Job description

ABOUT TRIBUTE TECHNOLOGY:
At Tribute Technology, we make end-of-life celebrations memorable, meaningful, and effortless through thoughtful and innovative technology solutions. Our mission is to help communities around the world celebrate life and pay tribute to those we love. Our comprehensive platform brings together software and technology to provide a fully integrated experience for all users, whether that is a family, a funeral home, or an online publisher. We are the market leader in the US and Canada, with global expansion plans and a growing international team of more than 400 individuals in the US, Canada, Philippines, Ukraine and India.
ABOUT YOU
The Senior SEO Analyst will own organic search performance for Tribute Tech's website platform, serving funeral professionals across North America. You will bring deep technical SEO expertise and hands-on website traffic experience to diagnose complex issues, define SEO strategy, and drive scalable organic growth across the client base.
This is a deeply applied and technical role: you will lead site architecture audits, resolve complex crawl and indexation issues, and drive SEO implementations in partnership with development and product teams. You will be the definitive expert resource when clients escalate SEO issues that require advanced diagnosis; and you will build the frameworks that make those resolutions repeatable.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable deep in a crawl log, identifying data patterns and anomalies, and presenting findings to an executive audience. You operate with a high degree of autonomy, bring rigour to ambiguous problems, and translate complex search data into clear, prioritized recommendations that move the business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Technical SEO and Site Health
  • Lead comprehensive technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and mobile performance; translating findings into prioritized, actionable remediation plans

  • Independently identify, prioritize, and drive resolution of technical issues across client sites, working with development and professional services teams to implement fixes and validating outcomes post-deployment

  • Monitor and maintain XML sitemaps, robots.txt configurations, canonical tags, hreflang, and redirect chains

  • Analyze log files to understand bot crawl behavior and surface opportunities for crawl budget optimization

  • Implement and validate structured data (Schema.org) markup relevant to eCommerce and local business use cases

SEO Experimentation
  • Partner with the A/B testing and analytics team to measure the SEO impact of on-site changes and product releases

  • Utilize GA4, Google Search Console, and BI tools to track key organic KPIs and communicate performance to stakeholders

Customer and Frontline Support
  • Serve as the escalation point for SEO-related customer issues raised by frontline support teams

  • Diagnose client-specific SEO problems including traffic drops, ranking volatility, manual actions, and indexation issues

  • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical customer teams and clients

  • Design and own the internal documentation, playbooks, and diagnostic frameworks for SEO support scenarios; building institutional knowledge that scales beyond individual cases

Reporting and Collaboration
  • Create SEO performance reports and analyses for delivery to operational and executive stakeholders

  • Work cross-functionally with product, UX, content, and engineering teams to incorporate SEO requirements into development workflows

  • Track algorithm updates and industry changes, assess their impact on Tribute Tech clients, and translate findings into proactive roadmap recommendations

  • Identify, define, and drive process improvement initiatives within the SEO workflow, raising the quality bar across technical execution and reporting
  • Monitor the evolving impact of AI-generated search experiences (including Google AI Overviews and LLM-driven referral traffic) on organic visibility; assess implications for Tribute Tech clients and adapt strategy accordingly

Skills & Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with deep specialization in technical SEO and eCommerce environments

  • Demonstrated track record of independently diagnosing and resolving complex technical SEO issues at scale, with measurable impact on organic performance

Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4 and BigQuery; experience with GA360 is a plus

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise crawl tools such as Screaming Frog

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as it relates to SEO rendering and crawlability

  • Familiarity with log file analysis tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, or similar) to evaluate bot behavior

  • Experience with rank tracking and keyword research platforms such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Looker Studio

  • SQL proficiency to query and segment organic performance data; experience with AWS Athena is a plus

  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager for tracking implementation and SEO-related tag management

  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed Insights, and web performance fundamentals

  • Knowledge of structured data formats (JSON-LD preferred) and Schema.org vocabulary
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and LLM-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) for tasks such as keyword clustering, content gap analysis, and Python/JS script generation

Soft Skills and Working Style
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, prioritized recommendations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adjust technical depth for different audiences

  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and ownership; self-directed and proactive without requiring active supervision

  • Collaborative team player with experience working across product, engineering, and customer-facing functions

  • Natural curiosity, attention to detail, and a bias toward root-cause analysis

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with JIRA
