Senior Security Engineer-Artificial Intelligence & Infrastructure

We have an exciting Senior Security Engineer-Artificial Intelligence & Infrastructure opportunity in the Merriam, KS office. This highly impactful role as a Senior Security Engineer-Artificial Intelligence & Infrastructure will serve as a vital member of our security team, responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of security systems and controls that safeguard the organization's digital assets. This Senior Security Engineer-Artificial Intelligence & Infrastructure requires 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, combining hands-on knowledge of infrastructure security services along with offensive (red team) and defensive (blue team) security operations.

You will secure Azure Foundry Agent Service deployments, implement identity governance through Entra Agent ID, protect Microsoft Fabric integrations, and help develop autonomous security capabilities using agent swarms. Working alongside our existing security engineers and other IT personnel, you will address identified security findings through strategic design and hands-on implementation. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Design and implement security controls for Azure AI Foundry Agent Service deployments, including multi-agent workflows, hosted agents, and prompt agents.
  • Secure Model Catalogs with proper access controls, versioning, and deployment policies to prevent unauthorized model usage.
  • Configure comprehensive observability and monitoring for AI agents using end-to-end tracing, metrics collection, and Application Insights integration.
  • Implement security guardrails for agent tools and services (web search, file access, memory, code interpreter, MCP servers) using least privilege principles.
  • Manage control plane security through Microsoft Entra Agent ID, enforcing RBAC, content filtering, and access policies for agent identities.
  • Support Red Teaming & Responsible AI evaluation processes to identify agent vulnerabilities and agentic risks.
  • Implement security architecture for Microsoft Fabric workloads, controlling how AI agents access unified data platforms.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for enterprise identity and access management across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Deploy Entra Agent ID for AI agent authentication, lifecycle management, and conditional access enforcement.
  • Establish RBAC and identity governance ensuring AI agents operate within defined privileges and comply with corporate security policies.
  • Collaborate with data and identity teams to maintain secure integration points between Foundry agents and Fabric data services.
  • Design and enforce security policies for API endpoints, including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and threat protection.
  • Utilize Azure API Management or equivalent tools to manage and monitor API traffic, enforce governance, and ensure secure integration with internal and external services.
  • Conduct red team (offensive) activities: penetration testing of Azure infrastructure, AI agent attack simulations (prompt injection, tool misuse), and validation of security guardrails.
  • Execute blue team (defensive) operations: threat detection configuration, security monitoring of agent behaviors, alert triage, and incident response playbook refinement.
  • Develop autonomous security agent capabilities that perform continuous security testing, configuration scanning, and automated threat response.
  • Design and test agent swarms that can identify vulnerabilities, simulate attack scenarios, and recommend remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with security engineering peers to create feedback loops where red team findings directly inform enhanced blue team monitoring.
  • Partner with existing security engineers and other IT personnel to investigate and respond to security incidents involving cloud infrastructure or AI systems.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis when AI agents perform unintended actions or security controls fail; adjust configurations accordingly.
  • Automate routine security responses where feasible (resource isolation, credential rotation, alert escalation).
  • Document security configurations, incident findings, and remediation procedures.
  • Contribute to security standards, best practices, and internal knowledge bases for AI agent security.

Qualification requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, with focus on cloud security and offensive/defensive operations.
  • Proven track record in both red team (penetration testing, vulnerability assessment) and blue team (threat detection, incident response) activities.
  • Security-first mindset with attacker/defender perspective.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Accountability and ownership of security outcomes.
  • Innovation and adaptability in emerging technologies.

Technical expertise:

  • Microsoft Azure Security: Azure Security Center, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure AD/Entra, network security groups, key vault.
  • Cloud Security Fundamentals: Zero Trust architecture, least privilege access, IAM, network segmentation.
  • AI/ML Security: Model protection, prompt injection risks, data leakage prevention, Responsible AI principles.
  • Offensive Security: Penetration testing, vulnerability exploitation, attack simulation, tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite.
  • Defensive Security: SIEM tools, threat hunting, log analysis, incident response.
  • Scripting & Automation: Python, PowerShell, Azure CLI.
  • Security Frameworks: NIST, OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK.
  • API Security: Experience with API authentication, authorization, and governance.

Preferred:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Model Catalogs, or similar AI agent platforms.
  • Familiarity with Entra Agent ID and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Background in autonomous systems, multi-agent architectures, or AI-driven automation.
  • Certifications: Azure Security Engineer Associate, OSCP, CEH, GPEN, Security+, CISSP.

Work environment:

  • Primarily an office environment with some need to work in the field
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
