Position Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking entry level Structural Engineers. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also using these standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates shall be familiar with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts.

This role is in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
  • Apply your knowledge of materials, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design
  • You will perform the structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations, for both static and dynamic load cases for a variety of projects
  • Assist in the preparation of design calculation packages, develop structural technical specifications, and support designers with design drawing development (based on the analysis performed) for use in work package development and construction activities
  • Support structural estimation and bid development for project proposals.
  • There is the potential for you to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university required; EIT certification preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship for employement to begin or continue employment with our company
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; preferred experience with structural analysis software (SAP2000, RISA connection, AutoCAD/Revit, FEA software)
  • Strong work ethic and initiative required
  • Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access
  • Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties
