Job description

Job Purpose:
The Sales Development Rep reports directly to the Sales Development Manager. The Sales Development Rep is a sales support role that manages opportunities in conjunction with the sales team. This role is to own the opportunity from beginning to the end of the sales cycle, obtaining the resources necessary to get opportunities estimated, completed, and forecasted. The Sales Development Rep has a broad knowledge of multiple aspects of information technology and sales, and possesses the capabilities of communicating deliverables to customers, internal and external. The Sales Development Rep MUST:
  • Provide a positive "Can-Do" attitude and show positivity through teamwork
  • Deliver excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to respond to information requests
  • Independently troubleshoot account issues as they arise
  • Participate in mandatory training programs

Essential Job Functions:
  • Presales Support Tasks
    • Partners with Account Managers to provide details needed for promoting sales activity
    • Takes full responsibility and authority of customer opportunity management
    • Manage opportunities within the presales queue to ensure that all opportunities are delivered and completed
    • New Opportunity Data Entry in CRM (per checklist)
      • Customer and Opportunity Information to be supplied by the NICP Sr AM
      • SDR can assist the Sr AM (follow-up to get site map, coordinate a job walk etc)
      • Internal and external coordination for NICP and or vendor project job walks
      • Internal and external coordination for T&M opportunities
      • Internal and external coordination and communication on fulfillment opportunities (ie Delivery and tracking and follow up with vendors and the customer.
      • Customers follow up/communication as required by the NICP Sr AMs
    • Tracks service contract and subscription renewal opportunities using tools from Cisco or distributors
    • Ensures quotes/proposals are in accordance with company guidelines and RFP guidelines.
    • Reads and understands all estimating opportunity requirements, including RFP's, to ensure that they are delivered correctly and meet the customer and account manager requirements
    • Conducts estimating kick-off meetings to ensure that the proper resources for an estimating activity are in synch with the requirements and timeframes expected
    • Provides all content that needs to be packaged for completion of the estimates including bonds, documents pertaining to skill sets, certifications, and company information.
    • Provides detailed estimates per account management and customer requirements with content details that may be provided by others
    • Works proactively and professionally with partners and manufacturers to provide the best solution and pricing for both our customers and NIC Partners
  • Inside Sales Activities
    • Develop requirements and cost/sell pricing for existing NICP customers with close coordination with existing SR AMs (typically on fulfillment requests under 50K)
    • Review "Product Fulfilment" quote requests with NICP customers
    • Review Payment terms with NICP customers
    • Follow up with customer to obtain customer PO
    • Coordinate with NICP Project Accounting team to issue PO to appropriate vendors for "Product Fulfillment" orders for NICP customers
    • Communicate "Product Fulfillment" order/delivery status to the NICP customer
    • Upon confirmed customer receipt of product, SDR will relay tracking information to customer, and engage the PA team for AR billing and collections

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Provides detailed accuracy within the boundaries of estimating and maintains a high level of quality per Account Manager and customer expectations.
  • Works with specific accounts and Account Managers to ensure that rapport is built and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the business relationship between NIC Partners and our customers.
  • Works with customers and Cisco/NICP Account Managers to clearly define equipment that needs to be covered by Cisco service contracts, the desired contract duration, and cost/sell pricing.
  • Creates quotes for Cisco service contracts and subscription renewals using Cisco's tools: CSCC, CCW-R, or other tools, as required.
  • Provides high level support to Account Managers and sales support for customer deliverables, as needed.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards and safety rules.
  • Performs other tasks or projects as assigned by manager.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines or to fulfill travel obligations.

Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • 5+ years in presales and/or job-related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education/job experience
