Job description

About The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis):
The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) is a social justice youth development organization that since 1995 has been a place where Black and Latinx youth claim the power of their history, identity, and community to build the future they want to see. By educating, organizing, and training, we challenge inequity and create opportunity for all.
BroSis provides holistic and long-term support services to youth between the ages of eight and twenty-two. BroSis offers wrap-around evidence-based programming such as four-six year rites of passage programming, thorough five-day-a-week after-school care, school and home counseling, summer camps, job training, college preparation, employment opportunities, community organizing training, and month-long international study programs to Africa and Latin America. Based in Harlem, NY, but with a national reach, we publish assorted curricula and collections of our members' writings; train educators nationwide on our approach; and organize and advocate for social change. BroSis has earned national recognition for our evidence-based model, receiving an array of awards and funding from a host of national funders, including Marlene Nathan Meyerson Foundation, Charles Hayden Foundation, Cabrini Health Foundation, Kraft Heinz, New York Community Trust, Comic Relief/Red Nose Day, Trinity Church, William Stamps Farish Foundation, and more.
The organization has over 50 full-time staff, serves thousands throughout New York City, and has a $11 million dollar operating budget. In addition, we have moved into our new building - a 22,000 square foot state-of-the-art beacon for youth development. It is an exciting period of organizational growth and increased impact in our community and beyond.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Brotherhood Sister Sol is seeking a consultant who is detail-oriented and analytical to serve as our Salesforce Data & Systems Analyst to spearhead the migration and build out of our current Salesforce database and develop processes that meet our growing data needs and future requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong mission alignment with our social justice youth development work and be committed to leveraging data systems to drive positive social change.
Reporting initially to the Salesforce Systems Administrator, working closely with an external Salesforce implementation consultant firm, the Salesforce Data & Systems Analyst will play an integral role in ensuring timely completion of the Salesforce implementation project as well as supporting and training staff members during migration and beyond. The Salesforce Data & Systems Analyst will cultivate best practices to maintain an intuitive and reliable database that will sustain rapid growth across the organization. During and after the implementation process, the Salesforce Data & Systems Analyst will work closely with the Associate Executive Director of Programming and program staff to help build a culture of data, ensure program teams are engaged with the system, and field new feature requests and changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Salesforce Migration Leadership: Plan, design, and execute data migration activities from legacy systems into Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the entire process.
  • Data Management & Quality: Conduct thorough data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, and validation to ensure high data quality both during and after migration. Define and implement data governance policies and procedures in alignment with internal and external regulations.
  • Reporting & Data Visualization: Design, build, and maintain reports and interactive dashboards (using tools like Salesforce reporting, Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to provide actionable insights for stakeholders and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Systems Access & Maintenance: Manage user accounts, roles, profiles, and permissions within Salesforce and integrated systems. Troubleshoot and resolve system access issues, acting as a primary point of contact for technical support related to the database.
  • ETL Processes: Assist in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless integration between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data mapping documents, user guides, and process workflows. Provide training and support to end-users on data entry best practices and system usage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our development team, program leadership and staff as well as other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data solutions align with the organization's objectives.

EXPERIENCE, PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS, & SKILL SET:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of Salesforce experience in a data-related role, with experience overseeing data migration or integration projects.
