Summary/Objective:
The Enterprise Applications Developer is a hands-on early-career development role responsible for building, enhancing, testing, and supporting business applications, integrations, data workflows, and automation that help Beta Bionics operate more effectively.
Reporting to the Salesforce Platform Manager, this role works closely with senior developers, platform owners, business analysts, architects, and business stakeholders across multiple enterprise systems. The position provides opportunities to grow across Python, modern application development, APIs, cloud services, data engineering, Salesforce, AI, and automation.
The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in software development, practical experience solving business problems with technology, and an interest in working across multiple platforms. Salesforce experience is helpful but not required. This is an individual contributor role designed for someone who can contribute to current priorities and continue developing broader technical skills over time.
Experience in healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or another regulated environment is helpful but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Enterprise Application Development
  • Develop, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain business applications, scripts, services, APIs, and automation using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and other approved technologies under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Write clean, reusable, testable code and participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, release activities, documentation, and production support.
  • Apply development, security, data quality, change control, source control, and deployment standards established by IT platform owners and senior technical team members.
  • Work with business analysts and users to clarify requirements, translate them into maintainable solutions, and support user acceptance testing and adoption.

Enterprise Platforms & Integration
  • Build and support integrations among enterprise applications, Salesforce and other SaaS platforms, cloud services, databases, and external partners using REST APIs, web services, middleware, and event-driven patterns.
  • Develop and support Salesforce enhancements and connected solutions using declarative tools and, based on experience, technologies such as Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL/SOSL, and platform APIs.
  • Support enterprise platforms through enhancements, integrations, data updates, troubleshooting, testing, releases, monitoring, and documentation.

Data, Automation & AI
  • Develop and support data extraction, transformation, validation, loading, and reconciliation processes for operational and reporting needs.
  • Build workflow automations that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and streamline business processes across Salesforce and other systems.
  • Assist with AI-enabled and agentic solutions, including integration, testing, prompt and workflow configuration, monitoring, documentation, and appropriate human oversight.

Delivery, Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with technical and business team members to estimate, prioritize, and deliver enhancements, fixes, integrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot application, Salesforce, integration, data, and automation issues; document findings and escalate complex problems when appropriate.
  • Maintain technical documentation, test evidence, deployment notes, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
  • Continue building knowledge across Python, modern application development, cloud services, APIs, data engineering, Salesforce, automation, and secure software development practices.

Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Follow company standards for security, privacy, least privilege, data handling, change control, validation, documentation, and production support.
  • Support compliance and audit activities related to HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, SOX, internal IT controls, and applicable quality or regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure assigned solutions are tested, documented, auditable, reliable, and supportable.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of professional software development, application development, internship, or comparable hands-on experience.
  • Foundational experience with Python and at least one additional web or application development language, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, web services, data integrations, and common application integration concepts.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational data concepts, data quality, and basic ETL or data processing workflows.
  • Familiarity with Git, testing, source control, deployment processes, and modern software development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience developing, configuring, or supporting Salesforce using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL/SOSL, platform APIs, permission models, or declarative tools.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I, Administrator, Platform App Builder, or another relevant Salesforce certification.
  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Rootstock, ComplianceQuest, MuleSoft, or other Salesforce ecosystem products.
  • Experience building Salesforce integrations or working with CI/CD and release management tools for Salesforce.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure services, serverless applications, cloud databases, or integration platforms.
  • Experience with front-end development, ETL/ELT tools, data visualization, workflow automation, or intelligent document processing.
  • Exposure to AI, large language models, retrieval systems, prompt and workflow design, or agentic automation.
  • Experience working in healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
