| Aspect | Senior Rn | Registered Nurse |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | RN license, additional experience, possibly certifications in specialty areas | RN license, basic nursing certifications |
| Work Environment | Advanced clinical settings, leadership roles, specialized units | Hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Healthcare facilities seeking experienced nursing staff with leadership skills | Broadly used across healthcare settings for general nursing roles |
| Search & Comparison Intent | Looking for experienced nursing roles with leadership or specialization | General nursing positions, entry to mid-level roles |
The main difference between a Senior Rn and a Registered Nurse is experience level and responsibilities. Senior Rns typically have more clinical experience, may hold specialized certifications, and often take on leadership or mentorship roles within healthcare settings. Registered Nurses are qualified to provide patient care across various environments but may not have the same level of experience or advanced responsibilities as Senior Rns.
