Description

This role leads complex analysis and reporting activities related to balance sheet risk, using advanced expertise in liquidity, interest rate, and structural risk management. This role drives improvements in processes, models, and reporting and serves as a knowledgeable resource for peers and cross-functional partners.

Job Duties:

  • Own the daily cash position process, including monitoring inflows/outflows, projecting end-of-day balances, and executing funding actions to maintain target operating cash levels and regulatory minimums.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve short-, intermediate-, and long-term liquidity forecasts incorporating loan growth, deposit behavior, investment cash flows, borrowings, and contingent funding needs.
  • Design, execute, and interpret liquidity stress tests across various scenarios; quantify survival horizons, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Maintain and operationalize the Contingency Funding Plan (CFP), including early warning indicators, escalation triggers, playbooks, and periodic tabletop exercises to validate readiness.
  • Oversee pledged collateral across FHLB, Federal Reserve Discount Window, repo, and other secured funding sources; optimize collateral utilization, monitor haircuts, and ensure accurate reporting of borrowing capacity.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with brokered deposit platforms, wholesale funding counterparties, FHLB, and the Federal Reserve; negotiate terms, monitor capacity, and maintain readiness across all funding channels.
  • Execute brokered CD issuances, FHLB advances, and other wholesale funding transactions in alignment with the funding plan, policy limits, and ALCO-approved strategies.
  • Produce and analyze key liquidity metrics (e.g., on-balance-sheet liquidity, available borrowing capacity, stress coverage ratios, concentration measures, loan-to-share/deposit ratios) and proactively escalate trends approaching policy or risk-appetite thresholds.
  • Contribute to the development of behavioral assumptions for non-maturity deposits, loan prepayments, line utilization, and other liquidity-sensitive items; document rationale, sensitivities, and limitations.
  • Prepare clear, concise liquidity reporting for ALCO, senior leadership, and the Board, translating complex analytics into actionable insights tied to risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the liquidity components of the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework, including liquidity premiums and contingent liquidity charges that inform product pricing and balance sheet decisions.
  • Serve as a primary liquidity point of contact for regulatory exams, internal/external audits, and model validations; explain methodologies, assumptions, and results with clarity and confidence.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to liquidity processes, controls, models, and reporting to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for liquidity models, assumptions, processes, and controls to support transparency, auditability, and regulatory readiness.
  • Partner with business leaders to align liquidity strategy with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and broader balance sheet initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and review to junior analysts on liquidity analytics, modeling, and reporting, ensuring quality and sound judgment.

Essential Skills:

  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in field relevant to role (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
