As a Senior Product Associate in Contribute to the Consumer Community Banking Data Governance Product team, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success. You will help deliver capabilities that improve metadata standards, governed access workflows, and operational efficiency to enable AI-ready, well-governed data. You will support customer discovery, document requirements, and partner with design and engineering to launch and iterate solutions with measurable outcomes. You will collaborate across product, technology, and risk/control stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and compliant by design.


A Senior Product Associate in Contribute to the Consumer Community Banking Data Governance Product is responsible for modernizing and streamlining data governance by improving metadata standards, increasing operational efficiency, accelerating data access, and enhancing AI-readiness - enabling the business to leverage high-quality, well-governed data for advanced analytics and innovation. You will contribute to an assigned area product by supporting strategy and roadmap execution through discovery, requirements definition, and delivery partnership with design and technology teams. This role engages internal customers, supports market and user research, contributes to product positioning and value communication, and helps drive alignment across a matrixed environment using strong technical fluency and communication skills. Success in this role includes increasing adoption of governance workflows and contributing to measurable reductions in cycle time, rework, or access friction while meeting governance and control requirements.


Job responsibilities 

  • Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery.
  • Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience.
  • Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers.
  • Analyzes tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle.
  • Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development. 
  • Engage users and stakeholders (with guidance as needed) to understand needs, pain points, and workflows; translate insights into user-centric experiences and measurable outcomes. Support market/competitive research to identify opportunities and threats; contribute to product positioning and value propositions for data governance capabilities. 
  • Contribute customer, market, and performance insights to area-product objectives/OKRs; support roadmap/backlog prioritization aligned to business goals. Help identify and prioritize use cases; draft requirements for assigned scope (PRDs/epics/stories, user journeys, acceptance criteria); support refinement, prioritization, and dependency coordination with partner teams. 
  • Partner with engineering/design to support end-to-end delivery (planning, testing/UAT support, release readiness, post-launch feedback loops) and continuous improvement based on outcomes. Support alignment to governance and control expectations (policy alignment, auditability, documentation, resiliency/stability) in partnership with risk/control stakeholders.
  • Support communications, demos, and training artifacts; help drive adoption and stakeholder advocacy across a matrixed environment (including migration/change activities as needed).


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle
  • Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
  • Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
  • 3+ years in product management or equivalent experience delivering technology products in an Agile environment, including requirements definition, backlog refinement, and delivery support across the product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting structured discovery (interviews/workshops, process mapping, journey definition) and translating findings into epics/user stories, acceptance criteria, and release-ready documentation.
  • Experience supporting data governance and/or data platform capabilities (e.g., metadata management, access/policy workflows, stewardship processes, data quality/lineage concepts) across modern platforms (such as Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS).
  • Proficiency in product framing and documentation (Word, PowerPoint, Confluence); proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams on  solution design and delivery execution; solid working knowledge of analysis tools such as Excel and SQL.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative inputs to support prioritization and measurement (KPI/OKR support, usage/adoption analytics, cycle-time or workflow metrics).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to facilitate working sessions, coordinate across teams, and manage stakeholder expectations through ambiguity with appropriate coaching.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience (preferred fields include product management, information systems, computer science, or data analytics). 
  • Experience working in financial services or similarly regulated environments with awareness of risk/control, privacy, and audit considerations. 
  • Exposure to voice-of-customer methods and product analytics; experience supporting enablement (comms, training, migrations/rollouts).
  • CDMP (or similar) and/or exposure to industry-standard data governance/data management tools; interest in learning vendor vs. build evaluation approaches.
