Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Sr. Manager, Security and Fraud is responsible for the coordination of the Security and Fraud related activities within Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and eventually expanding to other Global Distribution business units, setting strategic direction, defining practices and managing the successful outcomes of fraud and security related matters. The incumbent serves as the program manager, building and maintaining the roadmap for security and fraud improvements; identifying and recommending new or enhanced practices, and procedures; providing business units with effective support to address client inquiries; building necessary materials to support awareness of security and fraud practices. The Sr. Manager provides all business groups within RPS with consultative support related to matters of security and fraud. Provides guidance on the effectiveness of business units' procedures, processes, initiatives and internal controls and advising management and the business on potential solutions and improvements. Brings an industry view to discussions based on information gathered through industry working groups, security and fraud committees and relevant research.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for representing RPS in client-facing meetings where fraud and cybersecurity programs and controls are being presented. Acts as a liaison between business and client when necessary to engage Enterprise Security and Enterprise Risk experts for in-depth discussions.
  • Facilitates discussions to evaluate external and internal needs from key stakeholders across organization and develops strategic direction for RPS Security and Fraud programs. Independently prepares materials for updates and presentations to clients, associates and senior management as needed. Independently prepares and delivers information, training and awareness events for associates across RPS to build critical skills and knowledge. Independently provides necessary training and support to associates to effectively deliver security and fraud related messages and materials.
  • Serves as primary escalation point within the business for matters related to security and fraud (i.e. inquiries into controls, discussions on process changes related to security matters, critical time-sensitive responses). Partners with RPS RFP team to validate responses and engages with Enterprise Security and Enterprise Risk teams as needed. Partners with Enterprise and RPS Risk Management team focused on delivery of regulatory reporting (i.e. SOC1, SOC2, FICCA, SPARK Certification), acting as key decision maker and point of escalation for critical concerns.
  • Monitors and analyzes issues and trends to identify potential systemic risk to the RPS. In partnership with RPS Risk Management and business partnerships (i.e. WISE), proposes solutions for resolution through the enhancements to controls or business practices to minimize security and fraud issues and losses.
  • Proactively manages RPS Security and Fraud roadmap, incorporating new thinking and approaches to managing security. Executes projects to implement new and enhanced processes to enable organization to mitigate security and fraud risks. Reports progress to senior RPS leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College degree and 6 years of related work experience, or
  • Associate degree and 8 years related work experience, or
  • High School diploma/equivalent and 10 years related work experience
  • College degree with 10 years of retirement plan industry knowledge
  • Experience with Security and Risk Management business strategy building
  • Demonstrated leadership, people management, and relationship building experience
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and delivery
  • Results driven
  • Experience in multiple areas of retirement business to bring well rounded perspective
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • 10+ years of retirement industry experience, particularly within Fraud & Security in the Retirement Plan Industry
  • Experience partnering with multiple partners with a defined focus around the security and risk mitigation work including technology
  • A history of client facing responses and programs to support Sales and Account Management teams to answer client concerns
  • Experience with retirement plan sales, sales support, client and/or advisor interactions
  • Product management and development work designing and crafting Fraud and Security solutions
  • Vendor management experience
