Senior Technical Writer
Ft. Meade Area, MD · Government/Military
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
Full-Time | Fully Funded | $150K - $170K | 40 Hours/Week

Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation’s most critical systems and infrastructure. We’re seeking detail-oriented, security-cleared Senior Technical Writer to support our new 5-year Prime award in the Ft. Meade area. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents across programs and contracts of varying scope and complexity. 

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:

  • Triage incoming work and assign tasks to appropriate team members 
  • Track and manage assessment workflows, milestones, deliverables, and status updates.
  • Prepare, edit, and maintain reports, summaries, and other written products based on workflow status.
  • Research highly technical subject matter compile information from multiple sources into clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
  • Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
  • Coordinate with assessors, engineers, security personnel, and other stakeholders to collect required data and prepare reports. 
  • Maintain documentation standards, templates, and reporting consistency across systems.
  • Identify documentation gaps, incomplete submissions, and process bottlenecks, and elevate issues as needed.
  • Prepare management-ready status reports, metrics, and workflow summaries.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years experience as a TW on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to six (6) years of experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four (4) years of additional TW experience may be substituted.
