Peaceful Heart Mental Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a full-time remote professional, focusing on geriatric clients. This position is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from home while utilizing our telehealth systems to meet the needs of our clients. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify specific psychological needs and areas for intervention.
• Provide individual and group counseling aimed at addressing emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, and bereavement, specifically related to aging.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to formulate comprehensive care plans that integrate both mental and physical health considerations.
• Educate family members and healthcare staff on best practices for supporting emotional wellness and creating supportive environments for elderly individuals.
• Lead grief and loss counseling sessions for both residents and their families who are coping with end-of-life issues, ensuring compassionate support during difficult times.
• Implement evidence-based cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to promote mental acuity and enhance quality of life for our elderly clientele.

This role focuses exclusively on the geriatric population, addressing a wide range of mental health issues related to aging, including but not limited to dementia, depression, anxiety, and grief. You will work directly with senior clients, creating meaningful therapeutic relationships aimed at improving their mental health and emotional well-being while also supporting their families in understanding their care needs.

• Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience providing geriatric counseling services.
• Specialized training in geriatric mental health or age-related challenges is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based interventions for elderly mental health and the challenges faced by this demographic.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with elderly clients and their families.

• Experience in delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions for elderly populations facing diverse mental health challenges.
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in mental health practice, specifically as they pertain to geriatric care.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity to provide inclusive care for clients from various backgrounds.
