The Senior Factory Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the engineering activities relating to the factory such that employee health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised and that all engineering activities enhance product quality, plant performance, and the business objectives. This position is also responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic vision of the factory in areas of manufacturing reliability. The Senior Factory Engineering Manager is a key member of the factory management team.
Responsibilities
  • Define, propose and monitor the implementation of the Factory Engineering teams plans and objectives in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles and the Key Engineering Activities as outlined in the Nestlé Engineering Excellence (NEE) master document.
  • Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Factory Engineering.
  • Lead and coordinate the Factory Engineering team and maintain competencies, motivation and performance to achieve the teams mission and objectives.
  • Propose and control the Factory Engineering budget as well as the factory's capital investment plans and related capital expenditures.
  • Planning and managing all approved capital projects
  • Propose and monitor Factory Engineering in accordance with the key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company's values within the Factory Engineering team.
  • Contributing toward the Strategic and Tactical Leadership of the factory and division as a whole.
  • Ensure implementation of Asset Maintenance Management as Factory Maintenance System:
    • Technical Stores Management
    • Work Order Management and Labor Hour allocation
    • Equipment Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Drive the implementation of Maintenance Best Practices:
    • Optimize Predictive Maintenance technologies (Condition Monitoring and inspections) to minimize unplanned downtime
    • Utilise Planned Downtime for Scheduled and Condition-Based Maintenance
  • Initiate and coordinate the implementation of new processes/technologies with local, market, PTC, CTU and SBU engineering.

Requirements
  • (BA/BS) in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Process or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years related work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology:
    • Maintenance technologies.
    • Operation of utilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R).
  • Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers.
    • Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM).
    • CAPEX budgeting and preparation (CIAT).
  • Industrial Services and Energy Management (NEMT).
  • Heat exchanger systems & Ammonia knowledge
  • able to apply root cause problem solving and technical creativity to systemically resolve complex short term and long term issues and opportunities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills - ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously.
