Job description

An international manufactureris seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Greenville, SC.They will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-voltage switchgear products.
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining product designs, supporting manufacturing operations, driving product enhancements, and contributing to new product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, proficiency with 3D CAD software, and a passion for developing reliable, high-quality engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations to validate product performance and reliability.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and execute Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and field service teams to implement design improvements.
  • Assist with product validation testing, test plans, and technical documentation.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through design optimization.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications
