Senior Quality Engineer _ Bethesda, MD (Hybrid)

JOB SUMMARY

Join the Enterprise Quality Engineering organization as a Senior Quality Engineer supporting the End-to-End (E2E) team. This role validates business-critical workflows across integrated systems, enabling high-quality releases while minimizing production risk. The position partners with product, development, domain, and business stakeholders to align E2E test scope, dependencies, test data, environment readiness, execution status, defects, and release readiness decisions.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, software testing, and end-to-end validation of enterprise applications and integrated systems with a blend of deep technical knowledge.

Preferred

  • Experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr for requirement tracking, test management, defect tracking, and team collaboration. Participated in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing clear testing status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, validation, and integration testing across end-to-end business flows.
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Zephyr to support test planning, execution, reporting, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities combined with clear, effective communication across cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Design, plan, and execute end-to-end (E2E) testing strategies across complex enterprise applications, covering web, API, native app and integrated systems.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure quality across the SDLC.
  • Drive risk-based testing by identifying high-impact scenarios, edge cases, and failure points early in the lifecycle.
  • Perform defect triage, root-cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution with development teams.
  • Contribute to test planning, estimation, and release readiness decisions
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Review business initiatives and identify E2E test scope, dependencies, and integration touchpoints.
  • Create and maintain E2E test scenarios, test cases, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate E2E test execution across multiple application and domain teams.
  • Manage test data requirements and environment readiness for E2E execution.
  • Coordinate and oversee squad-level end-to-end test execution
  • Review and modify test scripts and flows to support release testing
  • Guide quality engineers, promote testing best practices, and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of test activities
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement through metrics of quality consistency and client satisfaction
