Senior Mechanical Project Manager - Data Centers


$160K – $180K Base + Performance Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits + Attractive Per Diem


I'm working with a leading mechanical contractor delivering major hyperscale data center projects across the US, providing full mechanical construction delivery from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the delivery of large-scale mechanical packages, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client objectives are achieved.
  • Manage project teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee project financials including forecasting, cost control, procurement, change management, productivity tracking, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate the installation of HVAC and piping systems, mechanical equipment, hydronic systems, process piping, digital controls, and associated mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, owners, design teams, trade partners, and hyperscale clients.
  • Manage projects from conception through completion, including material and equipment procurement, subcontracts, billings, RFIs, change orders & submittals.
  • Work closely with the Safety Department to identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations.


Ideal Background:


  • Senior Project Manager experience with a leading Mechanical Contractor delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC Service or Mechanical Project Management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale mechanical packages through all phases of delivery.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, piping systems, mechanical construction, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, contracts, and change orders.
  • Experience leading project teams and coordinating with General Contractors and multiple trade partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, associate’s degree in HVACR Technologies, or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital controls systems is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, client-facing, and problem-solving skills.
