Senior Project Manager

Location: Ferndale, WA

Description:

  • Assembling a full-time team to effectively execute the project
  • Overseeing the preparation and implementation of the Project Execution Plan
  • Leading the FEL process, completing gate reviews, and obtaining management approvals
  • Leading the Contracting Strategy effort, managing the contractor evaluation, bid and award process
  • Managing cost, schedule, procurement, and the billing payables groups
  • Interviewing and approving personnel from the contractor’s organization
  • Understanding contracts and managing contractors to maximize performance, controlling costs and minimizing claims and change orders
  • Setting up project facilities at site and in the contractors’ office
  • Setting safety expectations for the project and leading the team to achieve safety goals
  • Ensuring plant Operations and Maintenance personal are engaged and that they understand their responsibilities
  • Ensuring that proper schedules are issued, reviewed, and used to drive Project performance
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the cost estimate as well as monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Setting up programs to manage vendors, fabricators and any required specialty contractors
  • Ensuring that quality processes are followed
  • Developing, gaining approval for and managing to project KPIs and metrics
  • Leading development of a risk management plan
  • Preparing and giving presentations to various levels of the Company and other stakeholders
  • Timely and efficiently closing out of the project


Position Requirements:

Basic/Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
  • 10 or more years of project management experience working in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry
  • 5 or more years of experience working as a Project Manager with sole accountability for the project


Preferred:

  • 10 or more years of project management experience working in Refining and/or petrochemical
  • 10 or more years of experience working as a Project Manager with sole accountability for the project
  • Working knowledge of industry recommended practices, design methods and QA/QC requirements
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, industry standards and DOT requirements
  • Experience managing engineering and construction contractors and multiple project teams
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
