Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, based in Markham, Brampton, or Ottawa, ON office and have the opportunity to work on the various projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Perform project management for the planning, design, rehabilitation and inspection of bridges.
  • Prepare the design specifications required for both design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
  • Conduct analysis and design calculations as per the applicable codes, standards and regulations.
  • Lead and manage assigned projects and ensure the achievement of project objectives.
  • Coordinate and supervise the appointed technicians and engineers to the project.
  • Participate and contribute in office/region coordination with other disciplines as required, including business development and resource sharing.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide direction for engineers during various phases of design and construction.
  • Review and revise technical documents required to produce the necessary tender documents for construction. 
  • Prepare tender documents including specifications, quantities and drawings.
  • Perform other various activities necessary for the implementation of projects; and participate in proposal preparation.

What your experience looks like

  • Experience with design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and registered as a P.Eng. in Ontario.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction, design and rehabilitation of bridges.
  • Must have experience working with MTO, Cities and municipalities. 
  • The ideal candidate will be RAQS registered, certified/able to register for multi-span bridge category with MTO. 
  • Must have in depth knowledge in the design of bridges and familiar with MTO design guidelines; specifications and standards.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software; and
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The salary range for this role is between $108,610-$143,972. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
