As a Project Lead, you support the project sponsor and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives that advance the business priorities of Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG). You are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from ideation and planning to execution and deployment.You are responsible for leading and coordinating the human, material, financial, and technological resources required to deliver one or more large-scale, innovative, and complex projects. Your ability to drive results, foster collaboration, and engage stakeholders enables you to successfully deliver initiatives that create business value.The nature of the work requires extensive expertise in project management, a strong understanding of business operations, and the ability to navigate a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. The projects under your responsibility are strategic in scope and involve multiple interdependencies, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across various business and technology functions.Working closely with contribution leads, business partners, and technology teams, you will be accountable for delivering project outcomes that achieve business objectives and realize expected benefits while respecting established budgets, timelines, and governance requirements. Through these initiatives, you will help enhance operational efficiency, strengthen the client experience, and support DGIG's strategic and regulatory priorities. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Ensure the availability and effective allocation of the human, material, and financial resources required to achieve agreed-upon business objectives

  • Develop, manage, monitor, and communicate project roadmaps, budgets, and key milestones, while establishing and maintaining effective governance structures and decision-making processes

  • Lead the identification, assessment, mitigation, and management of project risks, issues, and dependencies

  • Be accountable for project reporting, performance tracking, and status communications to sponsors, governance committees, and other decision-making bodies

  • Collaborate in the selection, management, and oversight of internal and external vendors and partners

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, providing leadership, guidance, and influence to senior management, governance committees, and project teams. Represent the organization and support negotiations with external suppliers when required

  • Demonstrate strong leadership competencies, including valuing diverse perspectives, learning with agility, maintaining a client-centric mindset, taking initiative, navigating ambiguity, making sound decisions, fostering team engagement, and delivering results.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience in project management, including the delivery of large-scale, cross-functional business and technology initiatives in a complex organizational environment

  • Experience leading strategic transformation, operational improvement, technology, and business initiatives

  • Experience leading and influencing stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and driving project delivery in a matrix environment

  • Experience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and governance structures

  • Experience working with senior leadership, executive sponsors, and governance committees. Experience within the insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industry

  • Professional certification such as PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent designations

  • Advanced proficiency in English and French due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English and French speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Advanced intermediate knowledge of change management and business transformation principles

  • Advanced intermediate knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project / OPMI, or Planisware

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)

  • Available for travel between Aurora and Mississauga offices
