Summary
The Senior Manager - High & Heavy (HoT) is responsible for leading the strategic growth, operational excellence, and profitability of the High & Heavy logistics business. This role drives business expansion by identifying new market opportunities, strengthening key customer relationships, developing and cultivating high-performing suppliers and strategic partners, leading organizational performance, managing P&L, and executing global business strategies aligned with corporate objectives. In addition, this position is responsible for building and managing a strong network of transportation carriers, heavy haul providers, specialized equipment vendors, warehouse operators, port operators, and other strategic service partners required for successful project execution. By establishing reliable supplier partnerships, the role ensures operational stability, service excellence, cost competitiveness, and supply chain risk mitigation. The ideal candidate possesses extensive expertise in project logistics, oversized cargo transportation, heavy haul operations, supply chain management, and international freight forwarding, with proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Revenue Leadership
    • Develop and execute mid- to long-term business strategies for the High & Heavy business.
    • Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities across specialized logistics services including ocean freight, air freight, drayage, over-the-road t rucking, heavy haul, project cargo, and warehousing.
    • Expand business across key industries including automotive, battery, industrial equipment, energy, construction, and manufacturing.
    • Establish annual sales strategies, revenue targets, and profitability objectives. Lead RFQ/RFP responses, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial proposals for strategic customers.
    • Manage sales pipeline, opportunity conversion, and business performance metrics. Develop value-added logistics solutions and new service offerings.
  • Strategic Account & Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
    • Develop long-term customer retention and account growth strategies.
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for major customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
    • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across integrated logistics services. Monitor customer profitability, service performance, and satisfaction.
  • Supplier Development & Strategic Partner Management
    • Identify, evaluate, and develop a strong pool of high-performing suppliers and strategic partners to support High & Heavy operations.
    • Build strategic partnerships with heavy haul carriers, crane operators, rigging companies, warehouse operators, port operators, and specialized logistics service providers.
    • Conduct supplier assessments including operational capability, financial stability, safety compliance, and service quality.
    • Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial term optimization.
    • Establish supplier KPI and conduct regular performance reviews.
    • Match optimal suppliers to project requirements while minimizing operational and supply chain risks.
    • Secure long-term capacity through strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Financial Management & P&L Accountability
    • Own full P&L responsibility for the High & Heavy business segment.
    • Manage revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and profit margins.
    • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Implement profitability improvement strategies and pricing optimization.
    • Monitor financial risks and develop corrective action plans.
  • Reporting & Executive Communication
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level business reviews, strategic updates, and performance reports.
  • Provide sales forecasts, pipeline analysis, profitability reports, and market intelligence.
  • Support investment evaluations and business expansion initiatives. Report on key project milestones, risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and customer demands within the High & Heavy logistics sector.
    • Develop market entry strategies and business expansion plans for new regions, industries, and service offerings.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on market intelligence and business analysis.

Compensation Range
$118,000 - $134,000 Per Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
