Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems.

RVS is seeking a Process Engineer with a background in supporting Vacuum Dewar Fabrication. This position will focus on processes and techniques required to support the manufacture of Infrared Vacuum Dewars specifically in High Vacuum, Residual Gas Analysis, Leak Check and High Vacuum Integrity. The selected candidate will work with a team of Technicians, Product Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Equipment Engineers in an ISO Class 5 Clean Room setting.

The position will also include managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing material in WIP, certifying operators and hands on processing testing and failure analysis. The candidate should have familiarity with some or all these processes: Vacuum Processing, Leak Check, Plating, Photolithography, Wirebond, Precision Alignment and Metrology.

What You Will Do

  • Will use chemicals, metrology, inspection microscopes, alignment, bonding equipment and high vacuum technology in a cleanroom environment.
  • Handling chemical safety data and follow and advise on safety protocols including the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders.
  • Working with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE/ANOVA).

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Process, Chemical and/or Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Precision Alignment, Wire bond, Vacuum Life, Leak Check, Plating, Photolithography, and Metrology.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or schematics.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and chemical handling ability.
  • Experience with Infrared Detector Technology and Equipment and Controls Systems.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE/ANOVA).
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as the ability to learn and use engineering and manufacturing software)

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
