Job description

Location: Remote Canada Only.
Company: Hale Digital Inc.

We are Hale.

We created Hale to be better.

We work with direct to consumer businesses that are ready for change.

We partner with consumer focused businesses poised for transformation, empowering them to experience growth, discover new directions, and reach the next level of their success.

We streamline processes to maximize results. Our efforts drive measurable and significant revenue growth through comprehensive media and digital strategies.

Our teams maintain a limited number of relationships, choosing our partners based on specific criteria. We are selective about who we work with so that we can create change for those who want it most.

The Role.

We’re hiring a Sr. Associate Director, Performance Marketing to lead media strategy, performance and execution across a portfolio of Hale’s larger, more complex and strategically important client accounts.

This is a senior, high-impact role for an experienced performance marketer who combines deep platform expertise with strong business judgment, strategic leadership and the ability to confidently advise senior client stakeholders.

At Hale, seniority does not mean moving away from the work. You will set the direction, lead the conversation and remain close enough to execution to understand what is happening, identify what needs to change and step directly into the platforms when senior expertise is required.

You will own the paid-media strategy and performance of your accounts, translating client business objectives into clear media plans, testing priorities, investment recommendations and actions. You will help clients navigate complex performance challenges, challenge conventional thinking and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scale and long-term growth.

As a senior member of the Performance Marketing team, you will also help elevate the work around you. You will provide strategic guidance and quality oversight to other practitioners, contribute to Hale’s performance-marketing standards and support the continued development of the team’s capabilities.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, bring clarity to complex challenges and take ownership of moving work forward. Clients trust your judgment, teams value your perspective and you are equally comfortable leading from the front or working collaboratively alongside others.

The Responsibilities.

The short version: At Hale, we aim to be better. Part of how we achieve that is by having senior practitioners actively involved in client accounts. The responsibilities of this role draw equally on your leadership as a marketer, your business judgment and the finesse of your in-platform skills.

The longer version:

  • Own Complex Client Portfolios: Act as the senior performance-marketing lead for a portfolio of larger, more complex or strategically important client accounts.
  • Deep Client Understanding: Know your clients’ businesses so well you could work there. Understand their industry, customers, economics, competitive landscape, challenges and growth opportunities.
  • Trusted Strategic Counsel: Build credibility with senior client stakeholders and lead clear, confident conversations about performance, investment, risk, priorities and opportunities.
  • Business-Focused Recommendations: Connect media performance to broader business outcomes, including revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, lifetime value, lead quality and sustainable growth.
  • Big-Picture Thinking, Hands-On Delivery:
Operate seamlessly at both strategic and tactical levels. Set the direction, remain close to execution and translate insights into recommendations that improve business performance.
  • End-to-End Digital Media Strategy: Own and lead full-funnel media strategies across paid search, paid social, display, programmatic and other relevant channels, ensuring investments align with client objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Performance and Optimization Leadership: Maintain a clear pulse on performance, pacing, account health and emerging risks. Identify what is driving results, what is limiting growth and what action should be taken next.
  • New-Business Support: Contribute senior media expertise to audits, pitches, strategic recommendations, forecasts and proposals when required.

The Qualifications.

  • Do you have 8–10+ years of performance marketing experience, including leading strategic client conversations and executing directly in ad platforms?
  • Do you have expert-level experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads, along with strong knowledge of GA4, reporting platforms and modern measurement practices? Can you connect platform performance to broader business outcomes such as revenue, profitability, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, lead quality and incremental growth?
  • Have you worked across DTC, ecommerce, lead generation and/or retail, and can you adapt your approach to different business models and customer journeys?
  • Have you mentored or provided strategic oversight to other performance marketers, including reviewing work and providing clear direction to strengthen strategy and execution?Experience with Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, other retail media networks, programmatic platforms, email, CRM, SEO/AIO and/or CRO would be considered an asset.
  • Are you a proactive and collaborative leader who identifies risks, opportunities and next steps, communicates complex concepts clearly and is comfortable leading or being led depending on the account structure?
  • Do you have experience developing testing roadmaps and using audience, creative, bidding and landing-page insights to improve performance?
  • Are you confident analyzing data, identifying key insights, recommending a course of action and presenting a clear performance narrative to senior client stakeholders?
  • Have you managed significant media investments and made recommendations related to channel mix, budget allocation, forecasting and scaling?
  • Have you led full-funnel media strategy and performance across complex, multi-channel accounts?

The Perks.

  • Good people who enjoy what they do and who they do it for.
  • A-players that are focused on moving the needle for their clients and themselves.
  • A focused, experienced, and innovative team that thrives on collaboration.
