We are currently seeking a full-time Technical Coordinator in either our Buffalo or Rochester, NY office. This position will work specifically with our Housing Studio, centered in multi-unit, multi use projects, including Affordable Housing, Senior Living, Multi-Family Market Rate Apartment Buildings, and Hospitality.

Duties:

  • Supports Project Architects and Project Managers in:
    • Building Information Modeling and construction document production (drafting).
    • Graphic presentation of the Construction Documents package.
    • Review and understand what codes and regulations are applicable to the project.
    • Meeting the client’s design requirements and quality standards when applicable.
    • Staying within the limits of the project construction budget.
    • Managing construction documentation process in a professional and profitable manner.
    • Maintain control over all contract documents and specifications for conformance, correctness, and coordination to the design intention.
    • Coordinating the integration of all the systems and detailing with the services of outside consultants as required.
    • Adhering to the firm/client contract or agreement for the design and delivery of the project and the client’s objectives and expectations.
    • Being acquainted with the resource plan to maintain project within fees budgeted for construction document phase and reviewing with the Project Manager the budgeted fee and financial performance reports and adjusting as necessary to stay within budget.
    • Participate in necessary meetings with the project team to help maintain the project workflow and schedule compliance.
    • Assist Project Manager during bidding phase with questions.
    • Consult with Project Manager, client, and contractor during construction to answer construction related questions.
    • Stay informed on the status of the project during construction.
    • Performing site visits to document buildings and their existing conditions
  • 80% office setting, 20% active construction site or existing building visits.

Required Skills:

  • Has at least a two-year degree in architecture, Bachelor’s degree preferred, along with 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Licensed Architect in New York State and CSI Certification desirable.
  • Has previous professional experience with – and is proficient in - using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Is a proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.
  • Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds.

Base Salary Information: $75,822 - $92,509

The above salary ranges represent a good faith range for incumbents of these positions. Actual offers will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
