We're hiring a Power System Engineer in Lenexa, KS. This is a hybrid role with approximately 25% regional travel.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:
• Provide technical consultation in power systems studies, power quality analysis, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
• Independently manage assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery within budgeted cost estimates and maintaining job cost accountability.
• Interpret customer specifications and inquiries to develop tailored technical proposals and pricing strategies.
• Provide innovative solutions that may include equipment upgrades, system testing, and design enhancements to improve performance and safety.
• Lead and mentor engineers on medium-sized projects, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Conduct and analyze Short-Circuit, LV/MV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies with precision and insight.
• Execute medium-complexity studies and projects independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H1B, H1-B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Lenexa, KS will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience
• Bachelor Degree focused in power
• PE License
• IEEE Membership
• Active in Local IEEE
• General Contractor's License
• Electrical Contractor's License
Position Criteria:
• Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policy; This includes role-applicable portions of the EESS Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and any required annual re-certifications thereafter.
• Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
• Power Quality Measurements, Harmonic Analysis
o Basic Distribution System Design
• Strong theoretical understanding of power system analysis for low- and medium-voltage applications.
• Experience with power system analysis including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis.
• Experience with managing a diverse range of small- and medium-sized projects unassisted, within targeted deadlines and budget.
• Strong ability to cross-collaborate with adjacent functions (Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, etc) and to coordinate with external customers and contractors.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead customer-facing discussions and technical collaborations.
