## Sr. Power Systems EngineerApplylocations: San Jose, CA: Remote (United States)time type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R23981## Please review the job details below.At Lanteris Space, our next generation spacecraft range from Earth observation to interplanetary missions, including the SR-1 Freedom Power and Propulsion Element (PPE).We are looking for an experienced **Power Subsystems Engineer** to join our growing Space Program Delivery team in San Jose CA. This position may also be performed remotely within the U.S. This position provides an opportunity to develop new Power architectures for various mission types, including low earth orbit constellation designs. An ideal candidate would have knowledge of existing space power hardware and background design platforms to accommodate this hardware.As a Power Subsystems Engineer, you will act as the engineering focal point for the entire power subsystem of a spacecraft being designed. Collaborating closely with a cohort of system and subsystem leads, you will develop power subsystem requirements and specifications through analysis and system trade studies, which translate customer requests into feasible design solutions. You will assist in flowing down power requirements into unit specifications, subsystem verification tests, and risk reduction plans. This will include make/buy decisions and vendor selection if new unit design is required. If a unit is purchased, you will coordination with vendors while tracking unit deliveries to Lanteris Space.**Responsibilities:*** Evaluate and optimize power system selection and design* Create power budgets & provide inputs for power subsystem sizing* Collaborate with Database, Harness Thermal, Flight Software, and other subsystem engineers* Resolve issues during AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) test phases**Minimum Qualifications:*** Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident* BS degree in an engineering or STEM discipline. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of experience may be substituted. A master's degree may count for two years of experience* 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in power subsystems or electrical engineering* Experience performing all/most aspects of the system engineering (requirements analysis, interface control documentation, concept of operations development, Use Case development, Operational details, and developing Test Plans.)* Familiarity with a Requirements Tool.**Preferred Skills:*** 10 years of power subsystem experience* Familiarity with satellite Power System design and test obtained through educational training and/or on-the-job experience in a related field* Experience leading electrical engineering designs through the full lifecycle* Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering.* Experience with software and system development projects using model bases system engineering.* Knowledgeable in most of the following areas: power system design, solar arrays, batteries, bus regulation and distribution, power quality and DC/DC conversion.* Familiar with deployment and maintenance of Development, Test and Operational environments.* Practices best practices when writing requirements.* Familiarity with the space environment and its effect on satellite systems* Active security clearanceIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.
