Our passion to bring our best thinking forward every day drives our success. We are currently seeking a Senior Podcast Producer tojoin our team in Austin, TX.


Job Summary:


As a Senior Podcast Producer, you'll develop audio content that informs, educates, and engages investors, encouraging them to take ownership of their financial lives. You will be the showrunner and lead producer for an existing podcast, assist with other shows as needed, and potentially help develop new show concepts.


What you’ll do:



  • Research and plan topics and write and revise scripts for podcast episodes in collaboration with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), including podcast host and guests

  • Run podcast recording sessions via remote-recording platform or in Schwab studios or other in-person settings

  • Oversee editing and mixing of audio content into finished episodes

  • Transcribe audio or procure transcripts from vendor; proof vendor-supplied transcripts to ensure accuracy as well as correct formatting, punctuation, style, etc.

  • Steer content through various stages of review and feedback—including Communications with the Public (CWTP) review—and manage post-publication lifecycle

  • Write episode titles, summaries, show notes, and CTAs

  • Upload final approved audio, video, copy, and imagery to appropriate distribution channels, including Simplecast, Drupal, Spotify, and YouTube

  • Contribute to audience development activities: Brainstorm promotional opportunities via owned, earned, and paid media and help develop creative assets for use in promotions

  • Access and report out metrics from hosting platform and various podcast apps


What you have

Required



  • Minimum 5-7 years of audio production and/or production experience with other mediums, working directly with SMEs, creative teams, technical teams, and other stakeholders

  • Active engagement with podcasts as a regular listener; understanding of the podcast ecosystem, including how shows are hosted, distributed, and consumed across podcast apps

  • Thorough understanding of investing and personal finance

  • Demonstrated interest in politics and government policy and their impact on financial markets

  • Experience working collaboratively with senior-level executives

  • Solid grasp of project-management principles along with experience in successfully applying and advancing those principles

  • Excellent editorial judgment, writing ability, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to persuade others

  • The ability to plan and produce content iteratively under tight deadlines

  • B.A./B.S. in journalism, communications, media studies, radio-television-film, finance, economics, or related field


Preferred



  • Expertise in audio production techniques, including fluency with the browser-based recording platform Riverside, audio-editing software (ideally Adobe Audition), and hardware (microphones, headphones, portable recorders, and accessories)

  • Proficiency with video and graphics editing in addition to audio (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Previous experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries

  • Experience coaching talent to deliver natural, impactful performances

  • Fluency with enterprise-level project management tools such as Workfront, Jira, or Slack

  • Experience with Drupal and/or other content management systems

  • Deep knowledge of the podcast industry, including distribution, analytics, marketing/promotions, and emerging trends
