Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior PLC Engineer to lead PLC programming, industrial automation, controls integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience developing and commissioning PLC-based control systems and be comfortable working directly at customer/manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC control programs.
Lead PLC programming and controls engineering activities for automation projects.
Develop and integrate PLC, HMI, VFD, motion control, safety, and other automation systems.
Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and protocols.
Develop machine sequences, interlocks, alarms, and control logic.
Review electrical schematics and work closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams.
Perform system integration, testing, commissioning, and startup.
Diagnose and resolve complex controls and automation issues.
Support onsite equipment installation, debugging, and production startup.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Review project requirements and translate them into controls solutions.
Prepare and maintain PLC software, HMI applications, documentation, and backups.
Work with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
Ensure automation systems meet project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of PLC/Controls Engineering experience preferred.
Strong experience with PLC programming and industrial automation.
Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or comparable PLC platforms.
Strong understanding of PLC logic, HMI, VFDs, motion control, safety systems, and industrial networks.
Experience with system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
