The main difference between a Senior Photo Stylist and a Photo Stylist lies in experience and scope. Senior Photo Stylists typically have more experience, handle complex projects, and may oversee junior stylists. Both roles require a strong portfolio and industry knowledge, but Senior Photo Stylists often work on high-profile campaigns and have greater responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior photo stylist?

To thrive as a Senior Photo Stylist, you need a strong background in visual design, fashion sense, and experience in staging products or scenes, often supported by a degree in design, fashion, or related fields. Familiarity with digital photography equipment, lighting setups, image editing software, and production management systems is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, leadership, and collaboration are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure visually compelling compositions, efficient shoots, and successful teamwork, all of which are critical to producing high-quality images that meet client expectations.

How does a senior photo stylist typically collaborate with photographers and art directors during a shoot?

A Senior Photo Stylist works closely with photographers and art directors to ensure that the visual story aligns with the creative vision for each project. Collaboration often begins with pre-shoot planning sessions, where the stylist discusses concepts, reviews mood boards, and coordinates on set design and prop selection. During the shoot, the stylist is hands-on, adjusting wardrobe, props, and set elements in real time to achieve the desired aesthetic. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as the stylist may need to quickly respond to feedback and make creative decisions to keep the shoot on track.

What is a senior photo stylist?

Senior Photo Stylists are creative professionals responsible for designing and arranging visual elements in photoshoots to achieve a desired look or theme. They select props, backgrounds, clothing, and accessories, and work closely with photographers, art directors, and clients to bring a visual concept to life. With their expertise, they ensure that products, models, or scenes are presented in the most appealing and marketable way. Senior Photo Stylists also supervise junior staff, manage budgets, and stay updated on the latest trends to maintain a competitive edge.

Everyday Dose exists to fix that because people deserve a morning ritual that actually feels good. We make functional coffee, matcha, and creamers that deliver calm energy, steady focus, and real well-being. No crash, no jitters, no gut issues. After serving more than 1.3 million customers and expanding into national retail, we're hiring driven, thoughtful people who want to help redefine how the world starts its day at scale.

  • Source, negotiate, and manage external vendors, freelancers, editors, stylists, talent, and production partners
  • Handle talent casting, location scouting, permitting, and overall shoot logistics
  • Create and maintain production calendars and ensure teams are hitting milestones
  • Run on-set production with confidence, ensuring creative direction is executed correctly and efficiently
  • Manage creative reviews, versioning, file delivery, asset organization, and QC
  • Track costs, maintain budget accuracy, and provide transparency to leadership

    • A proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
    • Experience producing photo and video shoots with confidence and attention to detail
    • Strong vendor management skills and a deep network of production partners
    • Clear communication, calm leadership, and the ability to guide teams through tight timelines
    • Comfort working in an environment where we are concepting the next campaign while executing the current one
    • Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and able to anticipate needs before they arise
    • An ability to support creative teams while keeping projects aligned with budgets and schedules
    • A passion for building systems, solving problems, and enabling great creative work
