Pay Rate: Starting at 150,000 per year (DOE)

Opportunity Type: Direct Hire

The Opportunity

We're looking for an engineer who goes beyond identifying problems and knows how to solve them. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for wind turbine controls, software, performance, and troubleshooting. You'll analyze operational data, investigate production losses, resolve recurring faults, and drive initiatives that improve turbine availability, reliability, and energy output across a renewable energy fleet.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting Vestas and/or Siemens Gamesa turbines, managing control parameters, and turning technical insights into measurable performance improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the SME for wind turbine software, controls, parameters, and operability.
  • Identify and resolve production losses caused by faults, derates, power curve issues, and equipment underperformance.
  • Analyze SCADA and operational data to uncover trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage turbine software and control parameter configurations to optimize performance.
  • Lead performance reviews and collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams.
  • Develop tools, metrics, and dashboards that improve fleet visibility and decision-making.
  • Drive initiatives that increase asset availability, efficiency, and generation output.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in renewable energy performance, operations, or engineering.
  • Strong background in wind turbine controls, SCADA systems, and performance analytics.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex operational and performance issues.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and equipment documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Highly Preferred

  • Direct experience with Vestas and/or Siemens Gamesa turbine platforms.
  • Hands-on controls, software, and turbine troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of turbine control logic, parameter management, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Tableau, PI, Power Factors, Bazefield, or similar platforms.

Additional Information

  • Local candidates only.
  • No relocation assistance available.
  • This is a highly technical role focused on improving fleet performance, increasing generation, and solving the root causes of lost production. Your impact will be measured in reliability gains, recovered MWh, and operational excellence.
