Job description

Senior Azure .NET Software EngineerLead Modern Cloud-Native Engineering on Azure
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure .NET Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, secure, cloud-native applications and integrations.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who can own complex solutions from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, and production support. You'll serve as a go-to technical resource for Azure and C#/.NET, mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and help establish reusable engineering standards across the team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and integrations using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Azure.
  • Own solutions end-to-end, including requirements, architecture, development, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
  • Design event-driven and API-led architectures using Azure integration and data services.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across Azure Event Hubs, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB.
  • Design reliable distributed systems using asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, and failure-recovery patterns.
  • Optimize application and API performance, including latency, throughput, scalability, and Cosmos DB utilization.
  • Build and improve Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release processes, and rollback strategies.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code and secure cloud engineering practices.
  • Establish observability through structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, monitoring, and actionable alerts.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting and complex production incident resolution.
  • Define disaster recovery strategies, including RPO/RTO, failover, backup, recovery, and testing.
  • Mentor engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and provide clear, data-driven recommendations to engineering and business leadership.
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools across coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and other SDLC activities while maintaining appropriate human validation.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Advanced development experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Strong experience designing and operating production applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on production expertise with Azure Event Hubs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Experience designing cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of application integration, asynchronous processing, authentication/authorization, API design, and resiliency patterns.
  • Experience with automated unit, integration, contract, regression, and performance testing.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and application observability.
  • Experience troubleshooting application performance and production issues across distributed Azure environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and code reviews and mentor software engineers.
  • Experience taking ownership of production solutions through deployment, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools with appropriate testing, security, and human review.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure Functions, App Service, Container Apps, AKS, API Management, Azure Front Door, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
  • Advanced Cosmos DB experience, including partitioning, indexing, RU optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with disaster recovery, high-availability architecture, and production on-call environments.
  • Experience with Bicep or comparable Infrastructure as Code technologies.
  • Experience with Azure performance engineering, capacity planning, and FinOps.
  • Experience standardizing AI-assisted development practices across engineering teams.
  • Front-end experience with React.js or Next.js.
  • Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Experience within retail, distribution, supply chain, or similar enterprise environments.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to remain deeply hands-on while operating as a senior technical leader. You'll influence Azure architecture, solve complex engineering challenges, establish development standards, mentor other engineers, and take ownership of business-critical applications from initial design through production.
You'll also have the opportunity to help shape how AI-assisted engineering is responsibly incorporated into modern software development practices.
