Job description

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Patient Access Representative to join our team on a Full-Time basis.
The Senior Patient Access Representative provides operational support and guidance to the Financial Clearance Manager, ensuring accurate, efficient, and customer-focused patient registrations, insurance verification, phone coverage and interpreter coordination services across Stoughton Health.

Among other duties, this individual will provide support to the Financial Clearance Manager, in onboarding new members of the team, providing training and support to the department with complex registrations, insurance verification, and patient access workflows, while promoting best practices and ensuring representatives' interactions with patients are consistent, professional, and compassionate throughout the patient access experience. The team serves as the first point of contact for patients and acts as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical departments, interpreter services, and insurance agencies, creating a positive first impression for patients of Stoughton Health.

The Senior Patient Access Representative is required to understand, perform, and fill in for all Patient Access Representative functions as needed. While this role includes some production responsibilities, its primary focus is on staff scheduling, training and onboarding, operational support, issue resolution, workflow improvement, quality monitoring, and providing ongoing support to the team and the Financial Clearance Manager.


Position Requirements:

  • Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree
  • Professional Experience: 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting performing or supporting functions related to scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral management, prior authorizations, coding, estimates, claims, billing or customer service.
  • Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Intermediate Skills- Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports

Work Shift:

  • Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
  • 40 hours per week
  • Scheduled Days: Monday - Friday
  • Scheduled Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
