Oracle Apex Developer 
Position Summary:
The Oracle Application Express senior developer is a senior information technology professional within the Datacenter Optimization Practice (DCOP) who analyzes, designs, codes, implements, tests and supports Oracle Application Express custom built application environments. The APEX developer designs new or complementary solutions for transformed environments, implements solutions, and troubleshoots any residual issues post implementation. The APEX developer will concentrate on detailed APEX development related duties such as application architecture, application design and extraneous dependencies. The APEX developer performs application design reviews managing towards best practices and standards and may help develop detailed logical data models and application frameworks for internal and customer facing APEX applications. APEX developer must have the ability to architect, design, install, and configure large, complex APEX applications with replication and high-availability on several Oracle versions and APEX versions (5X and 4X). APEX developer must have the ability to migrate existing applications, pages and code modules thru dev/qa/prod instances and experience migrating entire applications to new APEX environments. Support activities include analyzing, testing, and implementing application designs to support various business applications of DCOP and its customers. Familiarity with Hardware and Operating Systems is needed to complete this job function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
              Independently manage all aspects related to Oracle APEX development and support.
              Develop application in an Oracle Apex 5X environment
              Customize generic Apex applications for customer facing and modify as necessary
              Maintain best practice development standards and maximize reusable code
              Work with DCOP and when appropriate it's customers to define detailed technical requirements for custom applications
              Participate in Application owner and Business User interviews to identify system functions and architectural and network related dependencies
              Consult on complex business issues and design considerations, data models and technical application framework
              Responsible for the identification and documentation of system requirements to enable the Technical Team to deliver the appropriate solution for successful transformation
              Participate in the development and execution of the user acceptance test plans, as well as schedule testing of APEX apps and upgrades/new code implementations
              Create new documentation and processes as needed to help refine, optimize, and/or to establish best practice APEX development standards
Requirements
 Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
              Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology Discipline and 6 or more years professional experience
              5 years Oracle database experience including database design, upgrades and performance tuning
              3 years' experience supporting Oracle Databases, with upgrade experience a plus
              3 years experience with Oracle APEX (prefer version 5X )
              Experience migrating code/pages/objects from dev/qa/production Apex environments
              Significant experience migrating entire APEX applications to new environments
              Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
              Oracle database experience with versions 9i, 10g and 11i
              Database design, optimization, and tuning
              3 years of experience with SQL
              3 years of experience with PL/SQL
              Experience with APEX 5x features (jquery, declarative actions, etc)
              Ability to design for Industry Best Practice Design in Oracle APEX
              Database security and compliance and integration of APEX with SSO
              Knowledge of writing custom Authentication and Authorization security modules
              Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a 24 x 7 production environment, with multiple priorities
              Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and effective problem-solving skills
              Excellent written and oral communications skills
              Proficient SQL scripting skills including stored procedure, functions, and ddl
              Mid-level knowledge of Hardware in general, and hardware knowledge as it pertains to Oracle APEX
              Display a good understanding of both the RDBMS and the underlying operating system including but not limited to:
                     Database performance tuning, replication, monitoring tools and tuning procedures
                     Strong database management skills including backup and recovery best practices in a high-availability environment.
                     Solid skills in productivity factors and the ability to understand impact of problem on overall database performance
                     Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
                     Strong skills in maintenance tools and best practices processes.
                     Ability to work well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise
                     Successful experience as a member of a project group
                     Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and the ability to work in a team or independently in rapid environment
                     Ability to independently provide time estimates for APEX related tasks
                     Data modeling, data entity analysis, and database design skills may be required
                     Use of a data modeling tool such as Erwin, ER/Studio or Designer/2000 a plus
