Job description:

Working closely with Boston-based convertible team this position is responsible, under direction, for executing global convertible bond trades authorized by portfolio managers or senior traders.ย 


Job requirement:


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to Senior Trader.

Primarily responsible for global convertible bond trading (includes some off-hour and holiday trading of overseas markets) as well as trading in other asset classes (equities, derivatives, fixed income), as neededย 

Managing positions via contracts for difference (CFD) and total return swaps (TRS)ย 

Sourcing and monitoring borrowย 

Effectively managing sell-side trading relationshipsย 

Assisting with trade origination and trade settlementย 

Monitoring position data for accuracy and compliance

*$10k of the bonus is restricted stock optionsย 

Identifying procedural deficiencies then working to resolve themย 

Reading, analyzing and interpreting relevant periodicals, professional journals, or technical proceduresย 

Writing reports and business correspondenceย 

Effectively presenting information and respond to questionsย 

Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsย 

Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formย 

Detail-oriented, thorough; does not make errors


Required qualification:ย 

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year College or university, plus 3-5 years trading convertible securities requiredย 

Experience in settlement of global securities, particularly convertible bonds, equities, and derivatives (CFD, TRS, options, futures, etc.)ย 

Advanced proficiency with Bloomberg, Kynex, and Excelย 

Familiar with order management systems and desktop trading platformsย 

Willingness to travel during the on boarding process is required; this will take up less than 25% of the person's timeย 


Other asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) trading experience
