As part of the Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) practice, our risk management professionals provide a broad range of risk advisory services to organizations across industries including development and implementation of risk operating models, risk function set-up, process/tech/data enablement and design of specialized risk programs (e.g., third-party risk, operational risk, operational resilience). Our goal is to help our clients increase their overall risk governance and performance and ultimately make better risk informed decisions.

We are looking for a Senior Manager or Director to join our exciting and growing practice with a specialized focus on Operational Risk and Resilience; and other non-financial risks. The successful candidate will have an important role in delivering end-to-end client engagements as well as driving various internal and market facing non-financial risks initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to work across industries, service lines and geographies to take on challenging and groundbreaking projects while building strong relationships with our fantastic people and developing skills that will help set you up for success.


What you will do
  • Delivery of client services, business development and practice management activities primarily for operational risk & resiliency (OSFI E21 guidelines)
  • Develop, lead, and manage non-financial risk engagements including client engagement plans, deliverables and ensure quality of the fieldwork and deliverables prepared by the team members
  • Assist organizations in designing and implementing operational risk operating models, including risk strategy, risk appetite, regulatory reporting, governance, policies, assessment, due diligence, continuous monitoring and technology
  • Lead proposal development as well as grow client relationships; understand clients’ needs and provide customized operational and other non-financial risks
  • Identify and assess potential opportunities to expand the non-financial risk practice, including participating in the development and delivery of presentations, thought leaderships, etc.
  • Collaborate with KPMG’s Risk Services practice to support risk transformation opportunities specific to non-financial risks
  • Lead and manage multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity
  • Assist clients in managed services, including workshops and presentations to key internal and client stakeholders
  • Support in the implementation of non-financial risk analytics and technology solutions (e.g., GRC solutions)
  • Mentor, drive and review quality of work prepared by team members in managing project timelines, quality, budgets and client relationships

What you bring to the role
  • 10+ years of experience and a strong background in operational and other non-financial risks in Financial Services
  • Risk management, assurance or professional designation (such as CA, MBA, CFA)
  • Strong current knowledge of the Canadian regulatory landscape (OSFI E21) and leading practices in Risk Management

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $190,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
