Job description

Job Summary:
Surf Internet is seeking a Senior Network Reliability Engineer who will be a technical leader responsible for driving complex projects and mentoring junior engineers. This role requires advanced knowledge of network design principles with a focus on reliability engineering and service provider operations.
Responsibilities:
• Mentor and support Tier 1 engineers on escalations and project work.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex troubleshooting scenarios.
• Manage IPv4/IPv6 address space and maintain IPAM systems.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of core and transport network projects.
• Ensure network changes adhere to best practices for resiliency and performance.
• Participate in capacity planning, traffic engineering, and forecasting.
• Work with Infrastructure and Architecture teams on network expansion and upgrades.
• Support Sales Engineering on advanced enterprise/E-Rate service designs.
• Maintain and improve network diagrams, SOPs, and configuration templates.
• Lead post-mortem reviews for incidents to drive root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• JNCIP-SP certification required.
• 5+ years of experience in service provider networks.
• Strong background in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPLS, and traffic engineering.
• Familiarity with Juniper, Microtik, Adtran, and ADVA hardware and software.
Preferred:
• Experience with network automation.
• Experience with packet capture, analysis, and performance tuning.
