Senior Network Design Engineer

Immediate need for a talented Senior Network Design Engineer with experience in the Banking & Financial Industry. This is a 12+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Plano, TX.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement complex networking solutions for Client
  • Provide level 3 advanced level of technical support
  • Communicate systems and technology project status and direction to Client management, peers and end users
  • Works with vendor account managers to evaluate services and network products
  • Consult with management in making informed business decisions
  • Design and produce network specifications for Client future network architecture.
  • Develop project plans for network designs, test and implementation on Client' enterprise network
  • Manage development, testing and implementation of network infrastructure on Client' enterprise network
  • Translate vision and approved networking concepts into designs.
  • Design and Implement the networking projects.
  • Review and document current network configurations; design and implement immediate changes as necessary.
  • Perform advanced network operations duties.
  • Provide technical expertise for Tier 3 network analysis and trouble shooting
  • Provide technical expertise to operations team during network equipment (routers, switches, load balancer, firewall ) maintenance.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Work with vendors to evaluate, analyze and recommend new technology solutions as it pertains to Network services.
  • Advise on vendor selection and product management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and facilitation
  • Ability to interface with all levels of associates.
  • Understanding enterprise IT infrastructure components (server, storage, and network) and their operational requirements.
  • Understanding of financial services operations, especially retail and leasing in the auto finance industry.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and flexibility skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of Client internal operations and network systems is a plus.
  • Must be willing to provide support in a 7 X 24 environment.
  • BA or BS in Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid expert level Protocol Knowledge: TCP/IP protocol suite knowledge: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, DHCP, HSRP
  • Technologies – MPLS, Ethernet, Ethernet Access, layer 2 switching, wireless, network security,
  • Switches and Routers – Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K series datacenter and 4510 series campus switches, ASR and ISR routers
  • Hardware Vendors – Cisco, Netscout
  • Telecommunications Carriers: Telecommunication or equivalent
  • 8+ years in overall network systems design engineering, support and implementation
  • Experience building large enterprise networking projects.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and flexibility skills in a team-oriented environment.

  • Cisco IOS, NXOS
  • TCP/IP suite of applications
  • Familiarity with NMS software (i.e. CoolAlerts, NetBrain, HPOV and other SNMP based applications).
