Job Description:
Senior Network Engineer with over 10+ years in telecommunications engineering efforts within major Oil & Gas FEED, Detailed Engineering & EPC projects.
Exp in Design of redundant backbone architectures (RSTP, PRP, HSR, MPLS).
Specify switching, routing, and firewall configurations for industrial-grade environments & Define IP addressing schemes, VLAN segmentation, QoS policies.
Design redundant fiber optic backbone (ring/mesh/star) with failover mechanisms
Develop fiber optic network architecture, layouts, routing plans, splicing diagrams, and termination details
Conduct and validate fiber link budgets, cutover strategies, network migration plans and OTDR testing requirements.
Define cable specifications (single-mode/multi-mode, armored, fire-rated) per IEC/IEEE/API standards.
Extensive expertise in creating detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, implementing SCADA automation systems with a strong networking foundation, and managing fiber optic and microwave transmission networks
Good understanding of telecom packages in EPC projects of different phases from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to Detailed Design, Commissioning, and Handover.
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, API, and Oil & Gas industry standards.
Primary Technical interface with clients, vendors, and inter-disciplinary teams (Electrical, Instrumentation, Process) to resolve technical queries and interface issues
Contribute to the creation of critical telecom engineering deliverables, including Block Diagrams, System Architectures, Layouts, and Termination Schedules using AutoCAD.
Design and validate integrated telecom systems suitable for hazardous Oil & Gas environments, LAN/WAN, and Hotline Systems.
Interface with instrumentation, automation, and IT teams to align network requirements.
Develop detailed technical specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions for telecom equipment procurement.
Conduct technical reviews of vendor documents and drawings.
Lead the design and implementation of SCADA automation networks, architect secure industrial networking solutions (TCP/IP , Switching, Routing, Firewalls) to support operational technology (OT) requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in Telecommunications Engineering, with at least 5 years in a Lead or Senior role within the Oil & Gas EPC sector.
Proven track record in FEED and Detailed Engineering for industrial networks of Greenfield and Brownfield projects, covering Onshore and Offshore facilities.
Demonstrated experience in the full project lifecycle, including engineering, installation supervision, and commissioning.
Strong expertise in industrial networking (Cisco, Hirschmann, Moxa, Siemens).
Technical Skills:
Essential proficiency in AutoCAD for creating 2D engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics. Ability to guide drafters and review .dwg files for technical accuracy.
SCADA & Automation: In-depth knowledge of SCADA architectures, RTUs, PLCs, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
Strong background in IP Networking, VLANs, and cyber security principles relevant to industrial control systems (ICS).
