Job description

Senior Director Product Marketing - Golf

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The Senior Director Product Marketing is the most senior product leader within adidas Golf and owns the global product vision, portfolio strategy and category direction across Apparel, Footwear and Accessories. As a member of the Golf Senior Leadership Team, the role converts consumer, market and commercial opportunities into enterprise-level portfolio choices that drive sustainable growth, profitability, brand desirability and competitive advantage.

In partnership with the Senior Director Design and Senior Director Product Operations, the role sets the strategic direction, governance and decision framework for the end-to-end Golf creation ecosystem. The role has accountability for product portfolio priorities, category investment choices, range architecture, innovation focus and product organization capability, and provides final Product recommendations to the SVP & General Manager Golf and the Golf Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Product Strategy, Portfolio and Financial Accountability

  • Own and evolve the long-term global product vision and portfolio strategy for adidas Golf across Apparel, Footwear and Accessories.
  • Set multi-year, annual and seasonal category priorities, portfolio architecture and investment principles aligned with Golf, Brand and Enterprise strategy.
  • Make and recommend high-impact portfolio choices across categories, franchises, concepts, price tiers and consumer segments, balancing growth, margin, brand heat and operational capacity.
  • Translate consumer, competitive, marketplace and financial insight into strategic direction, resource allocation and measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial leadership to establish category financial ambitions, performance measures and corrective actions.
  • Represent Product on the Golf Senior Leadership Team and shape business strategy, organizational priorities and enterprise trade-offs beyond the Product function.

Creation Ecosystem and Cross-Functional Governance

  • Jointly lead the end-to-end creation ecosystem with Design and Product Operations, establishing decision rights, governance, milestones and escalation paths.
  • Align Product, Design, Development, Go-to-Market, Marketing, Sales, Finance and Strategy around integrated long-range and seasonal plans.
  • Resolve material cross-category and cross-functional conflicts and ensure decisions protect the total Golf portfolio rather than individual category interests.
  • Ensure Golf priorities are represented in broader Brand forums and build productive partnerships with global Business Units, Creation Centers and Markets.

Organization, Innovation and Transformation

  • Lead, coach and develop the global Product organization, including senior leaders, and maintain a clear succession and capability agenda.
  • Set the innovation agenda across product, materials, creation processes, consumer data, digital capabilities and responsible AI-enabled solutions.
  • Sponsor transformation initiatives that improve speed-to-market, decision quality, range efficiency, product quality and organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, consumer centricity, collaboration, learning and disciplined execution.

  • Global functional scope across all adidas Golf product categories and markets.
  • Accountable for product portfolio recommendations, investment priorities, category trade-offs, organization capability and delivery against agreed financial and brand outcomes.

Requisite Education & Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product Management, Merchandising or a related field. Master degree or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Product Marketing, Category Management, Merchandising, Product Creation, Business Unit leadership or related functions.
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience, including leadership of senior leaders and global teams in a complex matrix.
  • Proven accountability for multi-category strategy, material portfolio choices, financial outcomes and organizational capability.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Employees accrue prorated flexible time off in the amount .4388 hours per day that increases with years of service, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year and Service Time Off during milestone years.
  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $172,900 - $238,500. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Carlsbad, California.
