Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer — Aerospace Systems (Phoenix, AZ)

Step into a pivotal role with an innovative aerospace & defense manufacturer in Phoenix, where production excellence and product design meet. This opportunity is hands-on: you’ll split your time between the shop floor, engineering huddles, and supplier sites to ensure complex parts move from concept to production smoothly.

A day in the life
  • Morning: Walk the floor to address production support needs, remove bottlenecks, and prioritize manufacturing improvements.
  • Midday: Review drawings with a critical GD&T lens, process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and coach teams on Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Afternoon: Visit a supplier to assess capability, fine-tune machining parameters, and strengthen vendor relationships.
  • Late day: Partner with design engineers—owning the manufacturing challenges so they can focus on innovation.
What you’ll own
  • Driving production support and continuous manufacturing improvements.
  • Partnering with suppliers and conducting on-site vendor visits.
  • Reviewing drawings, GD&T, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Providing DFM input on new designs before release to production.
  • Working across machining, castings, forgings, sheet metal, heat treat, and other aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Shielding design teams from manufacturing hurdles by taking full ownership of build readiness.
What you bring
  • Deep GD&T expertise (must-have).
  • Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting machining and other complex manufacturing processes.
  • Supplier development or process improvement accomplishments.
  • Self-motivated, thrives in fast-paced settings, and takes ownership end-to-end.
