Senior Manufacturing Engineer
At Curtiss-Wright, we lead the design, engineering, and manufacturing of advanced systems and components for the aerospace and defense industry. We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, a role that requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership in driving manufacturing excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to influence manufacturing processes at a high level, leading initiatives from concept through production, and ensuring the seamless transition of innovative products into full-scale manufacturing.
LOCATION: Hauppauge, NY
SALARY RANGE: $94,700 - $125,000/year

YOUR CHALLENGE:
  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing methods, process flows, and operational sequences to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Design and oversee the creation of tools, fixtures, and assembly processes to support complex production requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering to review product designs, ensure manufacturability, and drive smooth product launches.
  • Perform detailed manufacturing cost analyses, establish labor standards, and recommend process and tooling improvements.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize manufacturing work instructions, standard operating procedures, and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing engineering, production, procurement, quality, and inspection.
  • Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and labor efficiency, using data-driven analysis.
  • Champion 5S principles, continuous improvement, and EHS compliance throughout the manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and other manufacturing design software.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical and electronic assembly principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and applied mathematics (probability, geometry, trigonometry).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards, process documentation, and ERP systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
