Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer position utilizes a broad range of knowledge, education, skills, and talents to initiate change and contribute in a significant manner to the goals and objectives of Production Engineering, Operations, and the Company.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Ability to obtain US DOD security Clearance - US Citizenship required
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Project lead for build process and documentation, configuration changes, methods, and tools for production programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality engineers, and production personnel, to ensure smooth production operations and timely delivery of products.
  • The development and presentation of data, proposals, and projects to a diverse group of personnel.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance product quality.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Train and mentor junior manufacturing engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in manufacturing technology, processes, and industry best practices, and implement relevant changes to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate between engineering, production, and management for the effective and efficient manufacture of the product and delivery to the customer.
  • Support outsourcing and make/buy decisions.
  • Transfer of building processes from/to other facilities.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Specific Degree Field Required: Engineering
  • 5 + years of experience in a highly regulated industry, such as Aerospace or Medical.
  • Training Pre-requisites (Within one year of taking position):
    • ESD
    • Safety Training, as dictated by the Safety Department

Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Electronic Assembly Manufacturing.
  • The ability to read and interpret the Technical Data Package.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Word and Photo programs to produce Production files.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and inspection.
  • Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools, such as CAD/CAM software, statistical analysis software, and simulation tools.
  • Experience implementing process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
