Job description

Senior Analyst, Learning & Development - Investment Banking

We are looking for a Senior Analyst of Learning & Development to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of key programs for the Investment Banking business unit. You will own training for Analysts and Associates (new hires and current colleagues) as well as the summer intern program. In this role, you will be stepping into a well-established curriculum and strong programmatic approach where the focus is delivering, sharpening, and elevating existing materials, drawing on what each program cycle teaches us. A peer role focuses on our senior banker populations.

Successful candidates will bring significant experience as a facilitator who has managed multiple simultaneous programs. You'll be energized by the challenge of high complexity and working with a wide variety of stakeholders. We value colleagues who take pride in the quality of their work, take strong ownership over results, and bring strong instincts for what makes learning content work. We're especially drawn to candidates with L&D experience supporting Investment Banking specifically, though L&D experience at a firm with an Investment Banking business in scope is also a strong fit. This role reports to the Manager, Learning & Development.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of William Blair's Investment Banking global summer intern programs, including curriculum delivery, logistics, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Own training for new Investment Banking hires, including both campus/undergraduate analysts and experienced/lateral hires.
  • Facilitate training sessions for the intern program, new hire onboarding, and Analyst/Associate curriculum.
  • Maintain and refresh training materials to ensure content stays current with IB practices, market conditions, and firm priorities.
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communications across a fast-moving, high-visibility Investment Banking calendar.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Analysts, Associates, and interns participating in IB training programs, fielding questions and providing day-to-day support throughout their experience.
  • Gather input from senior bankers on content and approach for sessions that they will facilitate.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with external training vendors supporting IB curriculum (e.g., Wall Street Prep), including scheduling, coordination, and quality oversight.
  • Track program participation, feedback, and outcomes; use data to recommend and implement refinements.
  • Serve as a day-to-day resource for IB staffing and recruiting partners on training-related questions.
  • Additional responsibilities, as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in instructional design, learning and development, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience specifically in financial services or professional services industry; supporting an Investment Banking business is highly preferred.
  • Strong facilitation skills; demonstrated comfort delivering instructor-led training to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering and continuously improving an existing training curriculum.
  • Highly organized, project management orientation to manage a fast-paced, high-visibility calendar involving senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing external training vendors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to key firm office locations and events as needed.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI tools to support content creation, facilitation preparation, and workflow efficiency is preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Learning preferred.
  • Expectation of coming into the office 2 days a week minimum. Up to 5 days in-office during summer programs.
