Position

Senior Linux Engineer – Full-time

Location

17 State Street, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004, United States

Responsibilities
  • Install and configure Linux hosts (generally, but not limited to, Red Hat)
  • Deploy and configure various Java applications
  • Deploy and configure various Apache and Tomcat installations
  • Plan for and troubleshoot resource bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot problems with application, web and database performance
Qualifications
  • Very strong Linux/Unix/Solaris administration and troubleshooting skills including job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the shell, shell scripting
  • Experience using code repositories (SVN/Git)
  • Understanding of DNS and how to configure and troubleshoot it
  • Knowledge/use of security and password management software (SELinux, OSSEC, SSSD, LDAP, Kerberos) a plus
  • VMware/vSphere/vCenter installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting a plus
