Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family as the first Sony game development team in Canada in 2022. Our first game is in development for PlayStation and PC, a competitive multiplayer action heist game with a vision to entertain and engage players for years to come.ย 

Position - Senior Level Designer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Level Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Senior Level Designer will have end-to-end responsibility for PVP and Interiors, crafting exceptional experiences for the player and supporting the overall design vision for the game. You will collaborate closely with several disciplines across the team and leverage your passion for design to inspire those around you, usingย  feedback and data to create fun and challengingย  content.

Reporting

The Senior Level Designer will report to the Producer.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, implement and iterate onย  PVP Sandboxย  and interior levels.
  • Work with the design team to prioritize features, validate the game's quality, and ensureย  the timely delivery of tasks.
  • Assess gameplay and flow to ensure desired player experience is achieved.
  • Use feedback and data to maintain and drive the continual development of level content.
  • Review work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with the design and development of custom level editing tools and basic scripting.
  • Work closely across disciplines on all aspects of the development process to ensure design vision is realized.
  • Collaborate with the team at large to resolve design challenges.
  • Fix design bugs.

Experience and Skills Required

  • 5+ years experience in related role.Shipped at least one AAA console title.
  • Map creation process and architecture knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to review and assess levels against design criteria.
  • A good awareness of the flow and pace of a game.Experience balancing gameplay systems.
  • Knowledge of level editing tools and scripting languages.
  • Good documentation skills and attention to detail.Excellent collaboration skills and at ease communicating design ideas and concepts across all disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Unreal level editing tools and scripting languages.Familiarity with 3D modelling tools.
