What does a senior ISP network engineer do?

A Senior ISP Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the complex network infrastructure that enables Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to deliver internet connectivity to customers. They manage large-scale routing and switching equipment, troubleshoot network issues, optimize performance, and ensure security and reliability. Additionally, they often lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies to support the ISP's growth and stability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior ISP network engineer?

To thrive as a Senior ISP Network Engineer, you need expertise in network design, troubleshooting, and strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, typically backed by a relevant degree and industry certifications like CCNP or JNCIP.
