In this role, you will play a critical part in identifying, evaluating, and communicating risks related to asset integrity, operational reliability, and health, safety, and environment across Enbridge Gas assets. You will support risk-informed decision-making by conducting fit-for-purpose risk assessments and translating technical insights into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders.

What You Will Do:
  • Conduct risk assessments to support risk-informed decision-making. Use fit-for-purpose methods to identify and evaluate operational risks. These include health and safety, operations, environment, reputation, and financial aspects.
  • Support collaborator requests, including problem definition, data collection, application of assessment techniques, and clear communication of results.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on continuous improvements of assessment tools and develop new techniques through researching relevant literature, performing feasibility studies, and building business cases for improvement ideas.
  • Communicate technical results effectively to department leadership and team members through presentations and written reports.
  • Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and work instructions, and contribute to value assessments for major investments through risk and benefit analysis.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program based on the accreditation year; preference is given to mechanical, civil, chemical, materials, petroleum, or other relevant engineering fields.
  • 2-4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Highly numerate, logical, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and compile technical reports.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with limited travel (~90% office/~10% travel).
  • A valid driver's license, ability to travel within the state, and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be verified before hire.
