Summary:
The Integrity Engineer reports to the Director of Pipeline Integrity Services and will provide Subject Matter Expertise for integrity risk engineering services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Company's Integrity Management Plan (IMP) in areas such as quantitative risk assessment, data integration, and threat identification to support 195.452(g) and 192.917, support for identification of preventive and mitigative measures and IM program evaluation.
  • Utilize and continually improve risk-engineering tools such as DRAS software suite, GIS databases, interactive maps, and integrity sheets.
  • Run quantitative risk model(s) for specific assets including coordination of data collection, understanding the risk algorithms, reviewing, and confirming results, and utilizing the risk output.
  • Conduct annual risk review with stakeholders (management, engineering and/or operations).
  • Develop/maintain Risk Engineering processes and procedures. Provide support for regulatory audits and other aspects of integrity related programs, processes, and procedures as required.
  • Initiate and lead interaction with appropriate subject matter experts and other stakeholders such as third-party resources and vendors to develop tools to monitor specific threats such as pressure cycling and/or to track performance of existing programs.
  • Identify and present potential process improvements and lead the implementation once stakeholder agreement for the improvement is obtained.
  • Provide input to new construction pipelines and due diligence to support Pipeline Integrity efforts and incorporate newly operated assets into the IMP.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain performance metrics for assigned assets.
  • Other work tasks as needed

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • BS Engineering with concentration in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum engineering.
  • 3-6 years of related experience.
  • Solid understanding of pipeline inspection, operations, maintenance, and pipeline risk-based asset integrity management.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking skills to generate options and solutions
  • The position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work independently
  • Demonstrate initiative and adapt to manage multiple work tasks and changing priorities.
  • Travel up to 15% may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience desirable in pipeline operations, pipeline design, pipeline repair and pipeline integrity issues such as corrosion control, pipeline assessment and fitness for service evaluation, risk management, DOT Code requirements, and compliance
  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel and pipeline risk software. Ability to learn database query tools.
  • Python programming (or equal) a plus

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience

  • Normal office working conditions and field work
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
