How much do integrity engineer jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 24, 2026, the average yearly pay for integrity engineer in the United States is $101,752.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $84,000.00 and $116,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some typical challenges Integrity Engineers face when ensuring compliance with industry regulations?

Integrity Engineers often encounter challenges such as staying updated with evolving regulatory standards, coordinating inspections across multiple assets, and managing large volumes of inspection data. They must also balance the need for thorough assessments with operational schedules, ensuring minimal downtime. Effective communication with operations, maintenance, and safety teams is crucial to address issues promptly and maintain compliance without disrupting production.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Integrity Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Integrity Engineer, you need a solid background in engineering (often mechanical or materials), a strong understanding of risk assessment, and relevant industry experience, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in engineering. Familiarity with technical tools such as inspection data management systems, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and certifications like API 653 or 570 is highly valued. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential soft skills for evaluating asset integrity and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These competencies ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical infrastructure in industries such as oil, gas, and manufacturing.

What are Integrity Engineers?

Integrity Engineers are professionals responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of assets such as pipelines, pressure vessels, and other critical infrastructure within industries like oil and gas, petrochemicals, and energy. They assess the condition of equipment, monitor for signs of wear or damage, and develop maintenance strategies to prevent failures. Their work often involves risk assessments, inspections, and recommending repairs or upgrades to maintain operational integrity and meet regulatory standards.

What is the difference between Integrity Engineer vs Quality Engineer?

AspectIntegrity EngineerQuality Engineer
Required CredentialsBachelor's in Engineering, certifications like API, NACEBachelor's in Engineering or related field, certifications like ASQ CQE
Work EnvironmentIndustrial sites, oil & gas, manufacturing facilitiesManufacturing plants, product development, testing labs
Employer & Industry UsageOil & gas, energy, manufacturingManufacturing, automotive, electronics
Common Search & ComparisonYesYes

Integrity Engineers focus on maintaining structural and operational safety, often in industrial settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Quality Engineers concentrate on product quality, testing, and process improvements. While both roles require engineering credentials and work in manufacturing or industrial environments, their primary focus differs: integrity versus quality assurance.

Type: Permanent / Full-time
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience (multiple openings available)

About the Role

We're seeking highly skilled Signal Integrity Engineersto join a top-tier hardware engineering team developing next-generation networking, server, and storage technologies. This is a permanent, on-site position located in either Richardson, TX or San Jose, CA.

As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you'll serve as a subject matter expert in high-speed signal delivery and analysis. You'll work cross-functionally on complex PCB designs, performing simulations, lab testing, and root cause analysis to ensure signal quality and system performance. You will also participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and validate high-speed signal paths for digital and analog interfaces.
  • Perform 2D/3D simulations (e.g., S-parameters, eye diagrams, crosstalk, impedance control).
  • Conduct lab measurements including TDR and VNA; develop custom test fixtures.
  • Collaborate with hardware, layout, and system engineering teams on board design and stack-up.
  • Evaluate and model component-level behavior (e.g., Touchstone files).
  • Drive design decisions balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Support signal integrity across complex PCBAs (36+ layers), connectors, flex circuits, and cabling.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 to 20+ years of experience in high-speed signal integrity engineering.
  • Strong background in PCB signal integrity (both on-board and off-board transmission).
  • Proficient in tools like ADS, ANSYS HFSS, Sigrity, and Allegro or similar ECAD platforms.
  • Experience with single-ended and differential signaling up to 50Gbps, including NRZ and PAM4.
  • Deep understanding of PCB design fundamentals, crosstalk, impedance, and loss modeling.
  • Skilled in generating and analyzing eye diagrams, and interpreting both time and frequency domain results.
  • Familiar with PCB stack-up design, fabrication limitations, and high-frequency materials.
  • Hands-on experience with flex circuit design, ribbon cables, coax, and board-to-board connectors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's required).
  • Experience leading design reviews or acting as a technical mentor.
  • Exposure to hardware platform development for networking or data center products.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-regional teams.
