Job Description

DUTIES: We seek a Sr. Integration Engineer based out of our office at 1331 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position does not require travel. Provide coordination, and oversight of technical approach, deliverables, and schedule for assigned projects. Conduct regular reviews of the DevOps backlog to understand the status of each Delivery Team’s work. Coordinate end to end solution designs and collaborate with multiple Delivery Teams to identify and articulate project risks, as well as, solve problems, resolve risks, issues and manage dependencies, working with key resources to mitigate and resolve barriers. Conduct project forecasting and estimation for the WaaS domain. Verify Wellmark’s SDLC standards are being followed, including cross-functional reviews and Delivery Team governance processes to ensure project deliverables are complete, accurate, and comprehensive to support successful project execution. Provide technical leadership and oversight in the WaaS Integration Lead role for assigned projects. Lead multiple, cross-functional strategic investments of varying complexity atone time. Provide high-level analysis and implementation of innovative, efficient, and cost-effective business solutions for multiple platforms, while utilizing information technology, business, and industry trends. Guide other engineers in the design, development, code testing, debugging and resolution of issues that utilize emerging technology and meet and exceed Wellmark's evolving business needs. Provide advanced support in the gathering of information, necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization. Ensure analysis of defects to find root cause and guide others in the identification of potential improvement opportunities. Mentor, guide and problem-solve with other technology areas in the development and implementation of solutions, including how to use new or enhanced software /applications. Use data and cost measures (AWS, infrastructure, labor, etc.) to influence timely decisions, build consensus, and take actions to successfully deliver project or production support objectives and support benefits realization. Identify known issues, impacts to projector production outcomes if not resolved, and escalate, as necessary. Participate in project proposals, estimates and proof-of-concept activities as needed. Contribute to and drive adoption of best practices (development standards, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, etc.) across various platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field of study and 60 months of experience in the job offered or related position in the insurance domain.

Required experience must include: 48 months of experience in the IT industry; 60 months of experience in data warehousing / ETL, including implementing, troubleshooting, administering, and supporting complex solutions using a combination of the following tools: Informatica Power Center or IICS Software; Experience building ETL solutions by conducting analysis, defining the architectural approach, designing, developing, and deploying ETL solutions; Experience building and extending data marts and decision support systems; Experience creating data models using standard data modeling tools and best practices; Experience working with various data sources including SQL server, flat files, mainframe systems, DB2, and VSAM files; Experience developing Unix Shell scripts to support scheduling and sequencing of ETL workflows; Experience with various test and data comparison tools, such as TOAD; Experience designing and developing ETL solutions in Windows and Linux environment; Experience troubleshooting and developing creative technical solutions; Experience in software development lifecycle in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
