The individual will formulate and implement Clearway's Grid Integration strategy by driving the commercialization of multi-technology complexes driven by large loads and electrification. The Resource Planning & Grid Integration Analyst will lead and direct the efforts of key internal and external resources in successfully integrating Clearway's pipeline, including Development, Business Development, Origination, Engineering, Project Finance, O&M, and Asset & Energy Management
What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and model multi-technology complexes with wind, solar, various types of energy storage, or other technologies to create strategic offerings that provide high levels of carbon-free energy, high-capacity value resources, and timeline certainty to large load customers.
  • Evaluate new technologies like Long Duration Energy Storage, lead diligence for integration into Clearway's processes and projects, and form partnerships with technology providers that aid the commercialization of Clearway's Development Pipeline.
  • Track, monitor, participate in, and influence data center tariff proceedings at the state public utility commission levels with support from External Affairs. Represent Clearway in regulatory proceedings, utility and trade association working groups, and public utility commission engagements as needed.
  • Engage and manage consultants for energy modeling and resource optimization, regulatory policy, and development and commercial strategy topics in coordination with Market Fundamentals, External Affairs, and Development teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and convey knowledge of market drivers and industry trends in the Digital Infrastructure and Electrification space to facilitate proactive development and early-mover positioning as opportunities materialize.
  • Support the Business Development team with M&A opportunities that align with Digital Infrastructure initiatives.
  • Support projects through financing diligence efforts to support obtaining cash equity, tax equity, and/or project debt commitments prior to the start of construction, and at term conversion.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related power systems modeling, transmission planning, or grid integration experience.
  • Experience with power system analytical tools such as PSS®E, TARA, PSLF, and Power World.
  • Working knowledge of the general FERC interconnection process and specific requirements for MISO, ERCOT, SPP, PJM, ISO-NE, and NYISO.
  • Excellent knowledge of interconnection study procedures with expert knowledge of performing power flow, short circuit, and dynamic studies.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • General knowledge of technical standards applicable to the project interconnection design.
What Would Be Nice

  • 2-4 years of applicable experience in the renewable energy industry in the U.S., with experience in life-cycle development and commercialization of renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of energy policy and customer/market signals that impact or facilitate new development of renewable projects in major markets (CAISO, WECC, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE).
  • Experience managing cross-functional employee groups (i.e., project teams) and external stakeholders/agencies to execute a project development strategy.
